  • Doesn’t Label-Search Well Anymore

You can still type the search info in and find the right wine eventually, but up till a year, maybe a year and a half ago, taking a pic of the label worked great! Now it can’t find anything with even a remote degree of accuracy. At least that’s been my experience over the last year or so. Perhaps the image database isn’t updated anymore?

Sorry you are not finding the wines you want from label scanning. New wines are being added every day (Producers are releasing new labels every day too) The underlying scanning tech is advancing, with decoding, processing, and speed are all areas we are looking to advance. An alternative to scanning is to type in the wine name using Apple's Voice Control.
  • Wine reference

I use the wine searcher app to stay up to date with price levels when reviewing my wine portfolio - a useful tool.

    Developer Response

Thanks for the 5 stars. Prices update daily, and are mapped into the price history charts to help you know 'when to buy', and 'when to sell'. Look for the Analytics tab on search results pages to see price trends.
  • Great tool to evaluate wine you dig up in your cellar

I use this app to get a view of values and availability of all types, geographies, and vintages of wines I’m interested in.
Very useful tool for most wines on the market (a bit less so for some small volume producers).

Thanks for the Stars. We reach out to producers around the world and will list their latest vintages, labels, and notes for free. If you have a favorite producer not yet on Wine-Searcher, let us know at feedback@wine-searcher.com and we'll reach out to them.
  • Bad value

$10 a month, and the premium version still does not provide notes from pro reviews from the likes of Jancis Robinson or Tim Atkins

Edit: just to follow up on the developers response, bizarrely, they are mistaken. Jancis Robinson and Tim Atkins scores are available on the pro version, but any notes or commentary on a given wine are still behind a paywall on both of critics individual websites.
You pay ~$120 a year and don’t get to read what 2 of the worlds best wine critics (and arguably the worlds leading critic in JR), have to say about a wine. For that kind of money, for an app, a person should not have to pay for any additional wine critic notes.

  • I literally do not know how I would survive without this app

I use the winesearcher app daily to find and price wines, but also to learn about regions, grapes and producers. I love the detail they give about so many wines - no other wine resource comes close. I would be lost without it!…

    Developer Response

Thanks for the 5-Stars. Every day, we update with new prices for wines, whiskies, and other spirits. And news and knowledge too. We'd love to hear what we can do to improve, email feedback@wine-searcher.com
  • An excellent app!

Hoorah! A fine wine ID app that doesn’t track you and sell your details across the internet like, as far as I can see, all the others do.

    Developer Response

We're all about the wine! And thanks for the 5-star rating. We hope you continue to find great wine at low prices.
  • Good overall

Nice app however the store view is missing the grape filter.

    Developer Response

'Discover' on the home page of the app gives a filter-by-any-grape choice. Not quite the same as your ask, but it is a way to find your favorite grape variety at an affordable price.
  • This is the place to find the best prices

  • Years of experience at your fingertips

Very useful and user friendly interface. Very good search engine and honest feedback on the wines. Red for me so haven’t check out the white or spirit side of things. Recommend
  • Wrong wines

I take a picture of the wine label and it is coming up with the wrong brand and some times wrong color. If you don’t have it in your database, I would rather you say that you don’t have it. Then give me something I didn’t take a picture of.
The one’s you do get right I do appreciate. And I do appreciate the price listed. It is pretty accurate with the price I paid.
