Needs work.
Needs some work for the price. The program needs a legend that names the stitch symbols. It needs to be able to export selected symbols and their names so that these can be included in a published pattern. It should be able to export directly to PDF. The files should be able to be saved in a format that could be shared with other users of this program. It needs much better documentation. If a 100 by 100 pattern is exported, 1/2 of the top 100th line is cut off.Show lesslmkendall

Perfect for pattern planning
This is just what I was after to plot out fairisle patterns. You can change yarn colours easily, and the knitters grid is just what I was after. It's far easier to colour in and change on my iPad than in a book.SuzieZ13

I crochet & am looking start my own patterns I thought this was only for knitting. Then I found that you hav crochet symbols too. I'm having fun trying it out. I'm so excited, thank uYO*YO

I had photos I wanted to convert to a knit pattern and I was able to "paint" over the picture and create a knit pattern. This will also be very handy when I experiment with fair isle color patterns.
Occasionally a white square covered my work but it cleared when I refreshed.

Extraordinary!
This app is, by far, the very best one for creating needlework patterns! Although it was developed for knitting, I use it exclusively for needlepoint and cross stitch patterns and am greatly impressed with all the functions. The app makes it easy to try out designs and color combinations before stitching, and the ability to select colors from photos is brilliant! There is a highlighter bar to keep track of your stitching; the "share" functions work perfectly; and the huge number of symbols can be added on top of a color or used alone. Needs stitch symbols
This app is good for creating colour work patterns but needs some stitch symbols.
i.e. A dot for purl, slashes for right and left decreases, etc...Tr76458
Really useful app
I really like this app. It is helping me to try out new pattern ideas/colour combinations. I like that you can save patterns and toggle between bead and crochet/knitting pattern layouts.Patchwork Dragon

This app works exactly as described. Nice features are Continuous Draw Mode and Bead Mode. There is a color wheel for choosing a specific color. While I was hoping that Show Stitches would allow me to input the types of stitches used, it does not. Instead it brings up a preview of the colors as V's, rather than blocks. This is more of pattern chart maker than a pattern writer.Show lessMeRorobin
