  • no sound?

would be cool if there was any sound. without the sounds it’s really lame
  • Awesome!

My older son had this on the PC way back in the mid 90’s when it was Living Books. Now my younger son enjoys them on his iPad! I still have all the old CD Roms , but of course no computer that will still run them! If only I could find a copy of Dos 3.1 or Win 95! My older son still enjoys the stories and interaction involved!
  • Best Interactive Storybooks for Children

Your storybook apps are my child's favorite apps on the iPad. They are the best interactive books for engaging children, and helping children to learn to read. They are fun, engaging, packed with tons of variety to hold the child's attention, and are easy for children to learn to navigate. The arrows for page turning provide great visual cues.

Thank you for the many happy and wonderful hours you have given my son.
  • Great for kids learning spanish

The main reason I buy book apps on the ipad right now is to supplement my 6 and 9 year old's spanish lessons. This book app is one of my favorites. They have been taking after school spanish lessons once a week for about a year and a half, and while there were words that we didn't know, we were able to guess the meaning from the context. They think it is hilarious, so they will read it again and again. Also, the narration in spanish is good. We love it!

Some other book apps that we enjoyed for supplementing spanish lessons were: "de cabeza" and "scruffy kitty" and "2 tigers". We also really like a book that you can find if you search for " sombreros" and " bot" in the app Store.

  • Our favorite!

We love Ruffs Bone. I remember this on the computers in the public library back in the 90's and it is great to see such kid friendly animation back on the screen. My teen son even likes it! The sound effects, music and cartoony style make this a family favorite and it promotes reading too. Very creative! I cannot say enough good stuff, buy it, you won't be sorry.

PS wait for Ruff to do his dance on the title screen, the song is catchy!
  • Brings back great memories!!!!

When I found out about this, I thought it was too good to be true cause this game was only made for DOS computers and being that its 2013 it's very hard to come by with a DOS computer that's in good condition so when I found this and $5 is a little pricey but its well worth it, even being as an adult this is great and I well recommend it for kids :D
  • AWESOME

I have been hoping for a while that this book would be revived. it is wonderful, and deserves wide us.
  • Living Books were *meant* for iPad !!

Living Books were made for iPad -- but just didn't know about it when they were made years ago! How great these are coming out now. And very nice fidelity to the original.

Now, oh PLEASE, PLEASE, Wanderful, bring back the "Just me and my Dad", "Just me and my Mom", "Just Grandma and Me" and "Just Grandpa and Me" from the Little Critter series. I promised to buy them!
  • Love that it is in Spanish too!

Options for English or Spanish. The "Play" mode has lots of hidden interactive spots, great for language opportunities. When I downloaded it there was not an in-app purchase, but now it is displayed in iTunes? I would like to see the images a little more crisp, but I love that the words are highlighted as they are read. The narration and sound effects are great as well.
