Apparently they don’t want you to buy chips.

I have been playing on PokerStars for 20 years or so. I recently made a purchase of play money chips. When the chips did not arrive immediately I contacted support via chat (a freaking joke….over 1 hour to get someone). I was told it would be 4 days to receive my chips. It has never been this way before, even when I was playing real money games. Today is day 5 and still no chips. I don’t know what moron made the decision to change this but you are ruining PokerStars name and reputation. This is completely unacceptable and to top it off, I have been waiting for support on chat for 80 minutes now. Guess the customer that spends their money with you is unimportant.
I wouldn’t recommend the app at this time. Find another site that will treat you with respect and address any issues in a timely fashion. I still haven’t been told why there is a delay in receiving my chips either.

Hello Dumshari, thank your for your message. We're sorry for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, because the chips were purchased through the App Store, their payment providers don't allow us to make any corrections on our end. We can only correct transactions or initiate refunds for Play Money purchases made through Google Play or paid with VISA or Mastercard. However, you can request a refund from Apple for purchased apps or in-app purchases up to 90 days from the purchase date using this site instead: support.apple.com/HT204084 Thank you

Split View (still) being removed is a bummer

Review update. Still no return of Split View for iPad. It’s an expected standard for high quality apps and PokerStars used to have it. Is there a reason the developers can’t work out how to put back in this basic feature?

With all the updates I would have hoped that Split View would be enabled again.

I enjoy playing PokerStars play money and often do so in split screen while browsing or watching a video. I don’t know if removing split screen capability was deliberate or an oversight however I’d love to see it back if possible.

Not random

This is a fine app and a good way to learn how to play poker. But it is also designed to get you to buy chips. What this means is that there is nothing random about the dealing of the cards.

Those who have played a long time will notice how the programming changes. It used to be that if you were dealt a pair, it was guaranteed someone else was also dealt a pair. Now they constantly have it deal a pair in the flop. If you were dealt an ace, you can usually count on your opponent having been dealt either an ace or a high pair. Did you get the perfect two cards to complete a straight? Over and over again, your opponent received the same two cards. That rarely happens in real poker, but it happens every game in Pokerstars. And beware great deals late in the game, because…

They want everyone to buy chips which I would never do. So is there anything for which I would pay? Yes! I would pay for a plain random deal. But for all the time I have played, that is one thing they won’t do.

Hello. Bad beats are never fun, but they're part of Poker. We can assure you that our shuffle is independently tested as fair and random as part of our gaming license, for more information please visit: http://psta.rs/PSRNG or https://psta.rs/4cp0Teu.

Missing purchased chips - TWICE

Be aware that this app simply does not give you the play money chips you buy. It happened TWICE with me. And when I tried to contact their TERRIBLE support team, they said that I had to wait for 5 days for the chips to be credited to my account, but it never happened. If that wasn’t enough, you don’t to be a poker expert or need half a brain to figure out that game’s algorithm itself is massively biased. AWFUL in all possible aspects. You should change the game’s name to JokerStars.

Not enjoyable at all

I’ve been playing live poker games for over 40 years now. I’ve seen just about everything. I understand that you see more hands and because of it you get more bad beats. But the odds and percentages should never change.
However the game is not even close to real poker and the bad beats are unreal. Seems that the same players hands always hold up even though you have them beat from the start and they turn and river better hands. So even though 90% of the time you have them beat preflop and post flop I seem to lose 90% of the time. I’m a very good poker player and win in real cash games at brick and mortar casinos, but can’t seem to win by playing the natural odds that seem to be unnatural on PokerStars.

There are too many bad beats and seems that bad calls are all too often made and rewarded.

People say “why would play money be rigged?” Simple answer; so you will buy more play money chips!

I’m suspicious of PolerStars reviews because all you have to do is read the all too many good reviews and some of the reviews that started off critical changed to 5 star reviews when PokerStars actually bribes players with rewarding them with free chips if they change their reviews ( they openly bribed them in plain site and made no attempt to hide it.)

In conclusion, stay on the real tables at real casinos if you want a truly fair and enjoyable game.

PokerStars play money is not enjoyable to play, if you’re used to live games!

Thank you for your comment. The number generated by our Random Number Generator (RNG), and consequently the order of the cards, is completely random in a mathematical sense. If anything, our shuffle is actually more random than could be achieved by even an experienced real-life dealer.

Fake and unrealistic

At first I was super excited by this app. A simple live poker app that isn’t filled with cheesy graphics or ads. Seemed like the perfect place to practice poker skills with real players. After a while of playing you quickly realize the app is 100% feeding cards to create exciting game play. I can’t tell you how many ridiculous draws get put on the board with nearly every hand. The game predetermines what the community cards will be based on the player’s hands. I’ve seen a statistically impossible number of royal flush draws, straight flush draws, quads, and full houses. The developers deny it of course but they are full of it- it’s beyond obvious. If you have a pair, 99% of the time you will catch a set on the flop, only to get beat by a full house or straight. It’s not a big deal since it’s fake money, but it’s just a shame as the app could be really fun. Deleting and going elsewhere.

Unable to Purchase a Lower or the Same Amount of Play Money Chips as Your Previous Purchase

I’ve been playing PokerStars now for almost 2 years now. After dozens and dozens of online purchases for play money chips, all of a sudden I’m unable to purchase the same or a lesser amount of chips than what I normally do. My usual purchase is the $20 deal, and occasionally I will buy the $10 or $3. After 2 years of playing almost weekly they are not allowing me to make a $20 purchase or lower, but when I click on the $50 or $100 bundles, then they allow me to put my card information in to complete the purchase. Attempting to lure me in for bigger purchases than what I am comfortable with is unethical as a company. I am disturbed by this as I always make purchases and am a loyal player for the site. Hopefully I can speak to someone about this, as this issue has been occurring for a couple of weeks now.

Buying chips

After my first purchase of tokens, I wanted to make a second purchase which was debited from my account but never worked. They don't want to refund me if they credit the tokens to my account. I have to make do with Apple but I'll leave you to imagine the complications involved in getting a refund.

The first transfer was done instantly and then they say it takes 4 working days.

Worse app for poker ever. Go to the concurrents it’s really better
