Takes away previously free features
I have used this app since 2016. The app used to have plenty of fun free features, but the paid ones seemed very cool as well. I have used this app consistently until about 2021. After that, I took a hiatus and came back today to find that some of the free features I had used for years are now behind a paywall. In addition, there is an insanely overt watermark, when this was not previously there as of 2021! This is very disappointing as a user of 8 years. If you continue to innovate, keep the free features and then add more to the paid tier! Id even be happy to watch ads to get the free filters I’ve used for 8 years and have less obvious watermarks. Just feels very cheap and disappointing, especially because a vast majority of your user base will not be willing to pay $5 a week or $35 a year for features that were previously free to them. This is coming from someone who has loved this app since 2016, I love what this app does and I genuinely want it to be better. Or at least what it used to be a mere 3 years ago. Put ads in for the free folks! I don’t care.

Had this app for YEARS, continues to improve
I’ve had this app for a few years. Only paid a few bucks for it and enjoyed it at first use.
Took a break from it for a maybe two years only to find out the app has more more features the quality has improved exponentially!!! Besides the the many excellent photo doctoring/editing features, I have made
insane little movies from my dull videos.
They generally say, “you get what you pay for” but you’re getting much more for the few bucks you’ll pay for this app. It’s apparent more features will increase as will the quality for years to come. What a gem of an app!

Used to be better, pricing is ridiculous
I’ve used this app for years and found it to be a great photo editor. Really interesting tools you can use to make images look unique. The recent updates in pricing with the new subscription model however has completely ruined it. For me it’s now unusable.
It’s ridiculous to just jack up the price and make it subscription only out of nowhere. You should be able to buy the individual pro features you want to use like before, not be forced into an expensive paid subscription to be able to do anything with the app. Very disappointed

Frequently freezes and causes me to lose work
Without fail at least once per month I will be unable to finish my work because the app crashes every time I click the forward arrow to get to the screen to save the video. It happens randomly for no discernible reason.
It always persists no matter what effect I use, how many time I close and re open the app, or even if I fully shut down my phone and restart it. Then when I try using the app to do the exact same thing just a few days later it inexplicably works even though nothing has changed. However this time it hasn’t fixed itself and this is day 4 of having the issue…
I have submitted complaints to the company before about this same issue and there have been no bug fixes at all. I wish they cared more about fixing this because I rely on glitche for certain effects in my projects often and it seriously messes up productions when the app won’t work for no reason.

Bad
App used to be so good, now 80% of effects are locked behind a subscription. Deleted
Still doesn’t work great 10 years on
I’ve been using this app and putting up with some harsh usability issues because the tools it provides are really that useful. After using this app for 10 years I finally decided to pay for the team’s hard work, and good on them for offering a permanent license instead of shafting everyone with a subscription.
But I pay for pro in the middle of a project, and still can’t save in high res. My mistake, let’s restart and make a unique approximation of the project. Oh? A pop up survey to ask if I like the app? Well, I just forked over a lot of money, and I’m kind of in the middle of something. How about never serve me a pop up survey? Never ever ever. My point is it broke the UI and I had to start over a third time. My mistake for paying up.

Next level creative
I’ve loved many instances of this app, always able to create amazing visuals with unique style. Only wish it were a MacBook app, sometimes glitches on datamosh or video and doesn’t want to process them.
it loses value every update
I didnt mind paying for the app because I assumed I’d be able to access cool features in the app, and I did, back in 2019, and it was worth it. When they introduced subscriptions I firmed the 6.99 and when that was too pricey I knew since the app already cost something I’d still access most of what I needed. Now however, the subscription is ridiculously priced for somethings that has only added 2 new effects since 2019 and locked off the effects I was already used to using behind a paywall now even giving an unmovable watermark for videos😀 and you have to remove them from images despite that already being what you’ve paid for. Not worth the money anymore, save your coins or just get the other free apps

Why a one star review for a perfect product?
Because it keeps repeatedly spamming me to review it and it is my prerogative not to as I already pay you monthly for the product. It should leave me alone and let me do my work. So since you DEMAND that I review your product that I already subscribe to before I can continue to use it, I will. I purchased this product PERMANENTLY at a set price when it first came out which the company later illegally RENEGED on to charge me a monthly fee in order to use. It is now several hundred dollars to use it permanently, even though I already paid to use it permanently when the price was much cheaper. This, doubled with the fact that your product will not leave me alone until I write a review is why what should be a five star product gets ONE star. How do you like your review guys? Was that algorithm you used to force your users to review worth it? I’ll change it to five if you 1) Stop the product from bothering me to review it and 2) give me access to the permanent working product which I already paid for yet am still charged a monthly fee to have access to. If there is a reply from the company below this before my review has changed to five stars please know that the person answering this post absolutely knows the company is shady and still is just trying to give you lip service with absolutely no intention of fixing the issues, making them a liar, so don’t believe a word they say.

Membership required. Removed features that came with the app and put them behind a paywall
I bought this app years ago when all the effects were free and they’ve removed every effect and put it behind a membership. It just gets progressively worse putting more things behind a paywall. Disgusting removing features then Making them paid.
