Please update!

This was a stunning app, but it now crashes during the startup process. I’m very sad (and not just because I have to rethink how to teach some of this material) because this was a great way to,get students excited about ancient scripts that they could download to their own devices. I also used it in a number of in-class assignments. Now I’m going to go crawling at the cdli website and hope I can cobble something together.

Does anyone know of a good alternative app?

Not working

Does not work at this time. Has not been updated recently

What a beautiful way to appreciate primary sources of material culture

You have just saved me 1000s of dollars from airfares & museum entry fees!
Here I can practice reading from original sources my cuneiform!
The photos are exquisite & really motivates me to learn & find out more about the people of Mesopotamia.
From an appreciative consumer.

Surreal

It is almost surreal to me is that I can hold the first writings of civilization in my hand, in this simple elegant interface. From tablet to tablet, how far we have come. Wow.

Attractive Ancient Artifacts

Absolutely stunning app with lots of great links.

The commentary is general for each artifact, yet touches the human level. You don't have to be an archaeologists to feel a connection to the ancient creators of these fascinating and (if not for being fragile) touchable records of sophisticated lives in the low-tech lane.

The photographs are very high-def.

If you have a fascination for the culture and art of the ancient near east, for the first great mathematicians of human civilization, who brought us Algebra, (5000 years ago), the first written languages, and built the foundations of our world's civilizations squarely upon their savvy as merchants and masters of commerce, then you will go ga-ga for this app.

More. More! I want moooooore! Say, how about the complete known Akkadian Lexicon? Copy and paste whole Akkadian words, in roughly correct syntax? I want one of those.

Thank you so much. If you have a paid version, I'm gonna' buy one.

Wonderful

Excellent research app of the Babylonian Chaldean history in Mesopotamia

Finally! A tablet app for the tablet!

The images are unbelievably clear and the information provided is excellent and concise. Overall the simplicity of the app and the high quality of the images used gives for a great feel and the daily updates are a fun treat to look forward to each day.
