Great Learning Tool
I am in love with this app and its companion, Scribe: Origins. The interface is easy to understand, and setting options is a breeze. Words are spoken clearly, making it easier to understand the sometimes complicated Japanese alphabet.
Customer service is also outstanding. An email to the company was answered the next day and clearly not a form letter.
There are several different ways to study, giving you the chance to switch things up and see how well you're remembering the vocabulary. It seems everything about the app can be customized to your personal preferences.
This isn't a full course in the Japanese language; there is a grammar level but it is very basic. Even so, using this app and Scribe:Origins will give you a huge head-start on learning to speak (and read) Japanese.Show lessAbsentminded Professor
Lots of ways to learn
I am using this app regularly now trying to increase my vocabulary. It really does a good job at keeping me interested by offering several ways to learn and quiz myself. It is fun to use. There are a few things I would like added to the app. Like the ability to touch words in the example sentences and see what they mean. Or spoken sentences to get the context of similar words while using flash cards...etc. I hope they will add more grammar in this app. Like intermediate too! But overall this app has a lot to offer. Japanese vocabulary-building and kanji learning made streamlined and fun
I've been looking for a Japanese vocabulary app like this for a while. Something that teaches lots of words with audio pronunciation to learn the proper accent, and tests you on this knowledge with a variety of games including spaced repetition, tile matching, multiple choice, etc. This app does one thing and does it well: it teaches you the readings of kanji in the context of full words. No more trying to remember every reading of every kanji in one fell swoop -- learn them as you go. It also does a great job of making you learn several similar-sounding words in a row, so you can start to build associations and clearly understand which word is which. Above all, I love the simple and streamlined interface. You can set things up to match your learning style (for example, hiragana vs. romaji, the number of new words in a session, etc.) quickly and easily. And the icing on the cake is you have a cute helper egging you on to better and better proficiency. You won't learn stroke order with this app, but you'll learn everything else as it relates to kanji. Highly recommended.Show lessdainys

You'll find a lot of other reviews on other Japanese apps stating how good it is, but I was always disappointed in the end — but this app... it has reached beyond my expectations and had been a huge contribution to helping me pass my JLPT vocab exams. Absolutely perfect and no flaws.Hisaoko
