This app is amazing and has minimal bugs/flaws

I love this app, I find it’s tracking accurate and it’s stats overview is great. It has everything a skier/snowboarder could want. You can just hit go and it’s ready to track at whatever resort you are at and it knows where you are. The Apple Watch companion app is also great and works well. My only complaint is that it kills the battery fast but this is because it uses the gps all day. But slopes solve this problem by having a low power mode option that disables the GPS on lifts or you could buy a third-party battery bank to charge your watch at lunch. Battery should not be a problem with the Apple Watch Ultra though I have the se so battery life is more of a problem for me.

Simply the best tracking app for winter sports!

I've been using Slopes since 2014 and this app has simply never let me down. Some key features that I love: - Activity recording from my watch, heart activity, stats on your wrist - Replaying a session at the end of the day, with your pictures and your friends recording - Sharing a daily pass with a friend Another thing I love is that the app is updated with new features every other week. Curtis — who seems to be one of the nicest app developers on Earth — not only fixes raised issues as fast as possible, but also manages to add new features so often, always adopting Apple’s latest features: widgets, connect with Apple ID, family sharing, app available on macOS, live activities, etc. And this is not a one of, it's been like this since 2014. I've been recommending Slope to all my friends and family every time I arrive at a ski resort, and will continue to do so. I also recently subscribed to the family plan, because good work deserves to be recognized. Thanks Curtis!

Incredible feature-rich resort tracking app!

Slopes is such a well thought out app. The UI is super intuitive, the Watch interface is easy to use, even with gloves on and shows exactly the information you want to see when you’re on a run or a lift. Battery usage is minimal and easily lasts all day. I took a screenshot of my stats to share with some friends, and the app told me that I could share my stats in a custom data infographic. It anticipated what i wanted to do, and told me how to do it better. That’s a developer who knows their users’ behaviors and workflows. And their customer support is top notch too!

AWESOME!!!!

By far the best app for skiers and snowboarders. I hav had this for going on three seasons now. I’m ski patrol over here in NY at Bristol and it does such a great job of not only letting me know what to expect when I get to the mountain but what the conditions were on the days I weren’t there. I love that a small resort such as ours is on here and the tracking is great! The connection with Apple Watch is flawless. The only thing I can think of is let fitness nuts like myself be able to manually edit our heart rate training zones. Cause each persons is different. My mountain just cranked the snow guns and I can’t wait to get to work with this app by my side. Thanks Y’all!

Integration and usability

Positives:
1 easy to set and use 😊
2 integration with Strava and MyfitnessPal👍
3 even on iPhone screen eligible to read
4 really gives metrics based on ski time, chair T bar time, idle time
5 in run details you customise map and details to be sent via your message App👍
6 like max speed but it can become a fools game as in trying to go faster ⛷

Negatives
1 only one but it really drained the power on Apple Watch 5‼️ in the end I turn off blue tooth and ran the Slopes App on the IPhone only! I could see no difference and my Watch could easily track everything else without running out of power - see no point on the watch as using Bluetooth and GPS off the iPhone kills battery life on the watch🤔

Response from developer

Hey there, thanks for taking the time to leave a review, we're stoked to hear that you're enjoying Slopes! Sorry to hear about the battery issues though, and it's weird that you found that taking your phone with you killed battery life on the Watch. It should be the opposite and why we recommend taking your phone with you. The Apple Watch is smart and will use your phone's GPS instead of its own when it can, with the aim of saving battery (and the phone's GPS is also more accurate). With your phone in a pocket you can expect the Watch to easily last all day, whereas without the phone you'll likely see closer to 6 or 7hrs of battery before it dies.

Buggy

Marketed as the best skiing app for integration with Strava. The others must be bad then. Lots of bugs, including the current one that won’t let me upload to Strava cos the Slopes file wasn’t created by Slopes 🤔. I can’t seem to overcome and have fed back to the developer.

When it does upload the Strava, it is really just pulled across as a screenshot. No HR data appears on Strava. Have been feeding this back for 2.5 years. In the market for a new app.

Gave two stars, cos as a stand-alone app is not bad. But really wanting the Strava record

Hey there, we're sorry for the frustration you've been having with Slopes. There's currently a server-side issue with sending activities to Strava from Slopes, we're working hard on getting it fixed as we speak. In the meantime, we're sending the recordings over to Strava manually for users who are writing in to report the issue, if you send us a message via the Account tab -> Help & Support -> Report a Bug we can do that for you too. As for heart rate not being sent to Strava, that's not a bug. It's because your heart rate data doesn't hit our server - we don't collect and store it so it doesn't leave your device/Apple Health. For that reason we can't send it to Strava, to send data to Strava it needs to go to our server first. We're aware that there is increasing demand for this though, so we are keeping it in mind as we work on further development.

Very impressed

The range of functionality in this app is impressive. Great work to the devs and owners on this one. I thoroughly enjoyed using this with a bunch of my mates in NZ this weekend. Comparing stats and seeing our runs across the mountain was great.

We're so happy to hear that you're loving Slopes and found the digital trail maps for NZ resorts useful - they launched just this season 😎

Amazing

My family and I use it everyday and have down for multiple seasons, very good

Thank you so much for your ongoing support over the years, it means a lot to us. Enjoy the rest of your season! ❄️

Gets better every time you open it

Slopes is constantly improving with new features you didn’t even know you wanted. Great app for keeping track of your time on the mountain and reflecting on the best days. The snow rating (predicting) feature is super useful and I like how you can group trips! Great free app and a good deal if you go paid.

What a review - thank you so much!

Great app for skiers, with lots of Information

The app is great at showing you where you have been and showing you your bests, and if you have an Apple Watch it links great. It stands out from the others with it’s easy to use U.I and tracking system. It is let down by there being a “premium subscription” that can hinder some of the best features.

So all in all great app with one small caveat.

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review, we're stoked to hear that you love the app! While we'd love to make all the app's features free, working on Slopes is a full-time job for our small team of 3 people and so we need to make money to keep the business sustainable, and to be able to keep working on it. In saying that though, the core feature of the app, recording your days is free, as well as the friends comparison feature and location sharing which was released late 2021.
