  • Why such a confusing UI??

First of all it’s great to be able to pay our energy bill using a mobile app, especially from a company that is smaller than the larger energy corps, so I appreciate TCEMC offering this to their members. Also, this review has nothing to do with the service itself, which as always been outstanding, especially during times of outages. My complaint, however, is with the developers of the app.

Why the need for such a confusing user interface (UI)? There’s a menu button at the bottom that is very cumbersome and is always hard to get to where you want to go. Why not just put a hamburger menu in the top corner with links to everything so we can get there easily? I work in IT and frequently work closely with app developers and even I find it hard to get to the page I need when using the app.
Where Tri-County operates I know there are a lot of older folks and if I have a hard time navigating the app then I’m sure they do even more. I would like to see the developers move away from this clunky UI and opt for a more streamlined style UI with a hamburger type menu system (or something similar) for their next major release. That said, I’ve never had a problem with payments or functionality of the app, only the UI.

If they fix this, I believe more people would use the app to pay their bills.
