Effective Design Concept

This app has an effective concept for managing projects that integrates well with text-based workflows and journaling.

Projects are created with tasks and subtasks. Subtasks can be moved between tasks. Tasks can be reordered by drag/drop. Tasks cannot be moved between projects. There are no options to quickly batch add multiple tasks or subtasks at one time. Initial project setup is time consuming.

I downloaded this app because of the share/export to text feature. However I wish I could customize the export format. For example, most of the time I only want to share the project/task names without the details. Most of the time I would not want to include the % complete method, sometimes I do not want to include the % complete value, and sometimes I may not want to include the task notes.

The user interface is very clunky. The close project button is often covered by ads. It takes a lot of clicks to navigate and to add/edit the data.

It would be nice if the project list was presented in a more condensed list format (instead of graphical format) and could be exported to provide an overall portfolio summary of all of the projects.

Other features I would like are: ability to share just 1 task with subtasks and details; ability to define the date format for tasks that have deadlines to month/day/year; a reasonably priced non-subscription option to remove adds; backup; ability to export a text file in a format that can be imported back into the app.

1 star for design concept, 1 star for functionality, 1 star for not collecting data.

Response from developer

Thank you for the very helpful detailed review. Since this app is a recent creation, we focused our development on a solid technical architecture. Currently we are improving convenience or features. We're glad to know why users feel uncomfortable using our app. The feature list below will be updated in two weeks. - Moving tasks between projects. - Export options for customization (on/off) -> Project/Task names without the details -> % Complete Method or Value -> Include task notes - The close project button is often covered by ads -> We will improve it The features in the list below are what We're struggling with. It will be updated after we think about it and design it. - quickly batch add multiple tasks or subtasks -> Add multiple tasks or subtasks quickly and easily - ability to share just 1 task with subtasks and details; -> We don't mean to make it difficult, but when the number of buttons is increased, there are mobile screen size issues. So, after thinking and designing the UI for many function buttons, we plan to add them. - ability to define the date format for tasks that have deadlines to month/day/year -> deadline for tasks? or to-do(subtask)'s deadline date format? -> Anyway deadline's date format option will be added. For the list below, we cannot say if or when more will be added. - project list was presented in a more condensed list format (instead of graphical format) -> Since this is a change to the main UI design, we should think about feasibility. - a reasonably priced non-subscription option to remove adds -> We'll think about it after making more features, as we are busy creating new features and improving the UI. - Backup & ability to export a text file in a format that can be imported back into the app. -> Currently supports only device backup. We are thinking of iCloud backup and restore of our data files. We guess you are referring to a file format like csv. The export feature is easy. However, the import function is a lot to think about. For example, corruption of data due to user edits and growth of data items due to app updates.
