A wonderful way to experience ACIM!
If you’re an A Course In Miracles student or interested in its teachings, and/or you like podcasts or audio books, you will *love* this app!! Great job and congrats to the Foundation for Inner Peace audio app team! Talk about staying true to the Foundation’s original mission of “publishing, distributing, and discussing A Course in Miracles” while embracing modern technology.
First off, the user interface is brilliantly designed. It feels so smooth and easy to navigate! One of my favorite features is the audio playback speed setting. You can add pauses to the end of narrated sentences to give you a moment to digest what you just heard. This is great if you’re driving or listening while doing chores, for example.
Another amazing feature is called Smart Auto Bookmarks: The app automatically remembers where you left off in each individual section so you don’t lose your place. These sections line up with my beloved 3rd edition of the physical book: the Text, Workbook, Manual for Teachers, Psychotherapy pamphlet, and Song of Prayer.
You can also read along with the text as the narration is happening. It’s kind of like a karaoke machine - you see the words light up as they’re being read. I’m the kind of weirdo that likes watching movies with subtitles, so this is just fantastic for me!
Sound quality and background audio is great. I have never heard Bill Thetford’s recorded voice, but supposedly the voiceover artist has a strikingly similar voice. The recording quality is top notch. You can tell no expense was spared in the studio. Fun fact: he apparently worked closely during the recording sessions with the late, great Judith Skutch-Whitson!
Another nice feature is that upon registering an account, I get emails suggesting tips on how to use the app. They are not invasive, annoying, or pushy, and unsubscribing is simple. So far, these emails have enhanced my experience with the app.
App access is subscription based. As of early January 2024 you get a week free trail then can choose between $5.99 USD per month or $39.99 per year. Paying yearly comes out to $3.33 per month. Unlike many subscription business models today, it is very easy to cancel or change your subscription — no need to call a customer service 1-800 number at weird, difficult hours. I respect this a lot as it makes my time feel respected! I also love that —as far as I can tell— the app is not collecting my personal data to sell to e.g. Google.

This app led to a life changing experience and an inner peace I never knew I needed. As a senior I often have trouble with technology and I found this so extremely easy to use with stunning visuals paired with soul soothing content. I wish I could give 10 stars.GamGam1954

The replay function is easily my favourite feature!! When I found the comprehensive breaks (when choosing my listening speed), I was thrilled. For students like me who get lost in pondering when listening to audiobooks I usually find myself rewinding 15 seconds but with this option built in I have time to digest the content.
I also am very animated by the read-along function which also helps me absorb the message of The Course with greater efficiency.

This is one of the best apps ever. You can read and listen to anything you want at the same time, so you are getting the message through 2 senses at once. You can adjust the speed so it's easier to take in each sentence. I love the meditations because after the words stop you can stay with the sound as long as you want.
