when you play to match them suspend your account saying for behavior, REALLY?

Too much pub

you are going to destroy the community you build with your insatiable thirst to make a quick buck on the backs of your followers! all this for the crypto which is not yet worth 0.10 cents! think about the impact you are creating! do you think we don't see that you are extorting our time to raise money with your ads and that you are also making us as addictive as possible to your applications? is it really the primary vocation of the move to earn?! I do not believe! pay more attention to the repercussion! otherwise I will do everything to build an information community that will uncover the various scams to try to get rich on the backs of cryptonauts! and I'll start with you!

The definition of a Dystopian App

Walken Runner conceptually feels like a Black Mirror episode. More specifically, it falls very closely to “Fifteen Million Merits”. Lets dig into that a bit more… Currently Walken Runner has one game mode - a 7 day tournament. The catch? In order to win (or even compete) the only important variable is how much time you spend playing the app. This effectively means that the app is encouraging players to play every waking minute of every waking day during the duration of the tournament. The carrot being dangled is essentially “if you’re not willing to dedicate an astronomical amount of time then you won’t receive any rewards”. The other catch? You’ll be presented with a 30 second ad after every single run. Meaning that the ad exposure is about 50% of app time. I rated this app 2 stars because on a positive note it was built (technically) well and the gameplay is fluid and fun. However, if I judged the app merely on the fact that the goal is to maximize users’ in-app time as much as physically possible while also force feeding ads at the maximum limit then I’d for sure rate this app as 1 (even a 0 if that were possible). This game isn’t good for anyone’s physical or mental health, plain and simple. My first suggestion is to remove the focus of time on winning; rather allow for people to play/progress in the tournament for 1-2 hours per day (at whatever times they prefer during their day) and change the objective to be around the following: A) how many total coins collected (increase in points), B) how many total objects hit (reduction of points), and C how many total levels completed (because A and B will also influence this variable) - and the have an algorithm that calculates these variables (with respective weights) to determine the leaderboard rankings. My second suggestion is to significantly reduce ad exposure. I’d say an 80/20 split (gameplay/ads) would be an ideal target that should help net reasonable revenue while not overwhelming the users. Also consider a variety of ads (some instant, some 5 seconds, some 15 seconds, etc.). Presenting 30 second ads every single time to users will discourage them from actually downloading those ads. Any app that is willing to sacrifice its users’ physical and mental well-being in order to maximize profits needs to be scrutinized. I’m ashamed as a Walken fan to know that this product is connected to the Walken brand. The original Walken app is an amazing product that encourages healthy habits (physical steps) - this app is on the absolute opposite side of the spectrum and encourages the worst kinds of behaviors. It’s honestly sickening and I hope the team really takes a step back and understands the the larger systemic issues at play here.

Ads

Very to many ads

Rigged all the way

I was super excited about this new game Wlkn was coming up with, but I only downloaded it to realize that it was all the way rigged. You can’t win any of the rounds unless you watched an ad as a multiplier for gems at the end of each round you played. Played around 30 mins, and in all of that time, the only times I won were the times that I watched an ad before. I understand that Wlkn has to make money from somewhere, but then they got to make the ads shorter, an ad that’s longer than 30s is not ideal for a game.

Might be good

Started this game due to the connection to the walken app which has helped a encourage me to walk more. The game itself in this app is fun but there are way to many ads.

Waste of time

Everytime i get to a high number in the ranking system i exit and re-enter the app and my progress is not saved. I have to repeat my progress many times for it to save. Just a waste of time.

Meh

Kinda fun. Doesn’t tell you to link up your walken account unless you click on a certain spot. Super easy to just have spam earn a bunch of spots. Everyone should be given at least 1 WLKN, lower the amount the top people get if you need.
You only win any WLKN if you are like addicted to the game and watch all the ads. So if you like playing it, will watch some ads, then the developers will make all the money and you’ll make none.
Have other ways to earn than this basically lottery system.
WHEN THE RACE STARTS YOUR HEARTS AND STRENGTH DROP BACK TO ZERO MAKING LEVELING UP POINTLESS.
