it works!
I wasn't sure if it would work on my Macbook... but it does! There were a lot of different options to choose which version to download. I chose a Community one called Stable Diffusion 3.5 Large Turbo... because 3.5 just came out, but I also prefer quicker results =) ... the first suggested prompt was what I tried, with a few tweaks to my taste.... and it was such a beautiful (and cute!) image. So, this is just after using the app for a minute (after the download which took a couple min)... I'll come back if I have any other feedback. But mostly I just appreciate this accessible way to use Stable Diffusion on Mac, for someone with no Techy skills. Thank you!
