Reviews of TabletopTown

  • No D&D, everything’s paid-for

Save yourself the time and just download Discord if you want to play a game like this. There’s several bots you can add to the chat of Discord that do everything this app sells… and Discord does it for free.

You can’t custom build anything in this app. You can’t even start your own adventures without buying an entire system first.

Also… No Dungeons and Dragons content which is heavily disappointing.

Download DNDBeyond instead. You’ll be much happier.

    Developer Response

Hey Schmarts! Thanks for giving us a try… We do have two free game systems available for download so you can get started playing right away: Honey Heist and Goblin With a Fat Ass. The D&D OGL is also on its way and will be out in a couple weeks along with the launch of Season 3. If you’re not interested in any of the offerings we have on the marketplace, you can get started with your own game by creating one without a game system and adding it in later. Either a purchased game or one you build yourself using our web creator https://creator.tabletop.town/#/library using your TabletopTown login information so it saves directly to your account (web creator is not mobile friendly at this time)! With our latest updates, you’ll see some features you can’t get with Discord, all without having to dig through Reddit threads to figure them out. We are adding new features constellation, so I’d encourage you to give it another try. If you would like to request features or need help using our platform, you can visit our Discord server https://discord.gg/vVCWezBBY8
  • Almost perfect, but…

This is a wonderful little app. I’m super excited to get back to playing with my friends and be able to move our game along despite having an opposite schedule to my play group. I do have a complaint, however. I have been having a problem with the app crashing and causing my phone to heat up rapidly and stay uncomfortably warm. Have an older iPhone (7 plus) and I am reasonably concerned that it could be an issue between my older phone and the software, but I have never had an app heat my phone up like this one does. Hopefully something can be done about it, I would love to make this app a part of my everyday phone activity, but Im really limited to a handful of minutes at a time so my phone battery doesn’t plummet and my phone won’t potentially overheat.

    Developer Response

Hi Corsaire We appreciate this feedback! We are so glad you love the app (as much as you can, haha). We’ve had a handful of updates since your review was posted and it might be worth a second try. If it’s still giving you hassle, we’d love if you reached out to us on Discord so we can make sure we’re developing a platform for everyone to access, including you! https://discord.gg/vVCWezBBY8 Thanks! Shaunna
  • A great way to play TTRPGs on the go!

I've always loved playing TTRPGs with my friends, but finding the time to play regularly has been a challenge. Now, I can play whenever I have the time to check in! I love the dice rolling tool, and the character sheet system helps me keep things organized. It's also fun to use the creator tools to flesh out my own content to use in my games.
