Welcome to Combine Workouts. Here you can combine running and walking Apple Watch workouts, by integrating with your Health app with ease and export them as a GPX file.
So what problem does this app solve?
The app was born from the frustration of accidentally stopping a run or walk whilst still doing the exercise. Before Combine Workouts, there was no way to combine multiple workouts into one before uploading to our favourite activity tracking sites.
The previous way to achieve this was to upload the part-workouts, get the individual GPX files from the activity tracking site, combine them using a third party website, upload the new workout and delete the original part-workouts. This was far too complicated for something that should be simple.
Using this app removes many of these steps. By connecting to HealthKit to retrieve your Apple Watch workouts stored in the Health app, all of your running and walking workouts are available and selectable, each displaying the exercise type, distance, time and date of the exercise so it's easily identifiable. You simply select the workouts you want to combine, tap the 'Combine Workouts' button, review the combined route and statistics and tap the share button to export the GPX file. You can then save it or share it with friends and upload it to whichever activity tracking site or app that you use.
It's turned a multi-step process into a simple, two step process.
Combine Workouts is a passion project so I am open to feedback at any time and I have added my contact details within the settings page to make contacting me as easy as possible. If you have feedback, feature suggestions, bugs or anything else, then please don't hesitate to get in touch.
