  • Garbage

Most confusing stencils I’ve ever seen in my life. It loses half the important information and emphasizes irrelevant details that just make your stencils confusing and hard to follow. Stenciling by hand takes way longer, but I’d rather spend hours doing that then follow this easy hack that will only make your tattoos look lazier.

  • Great app, worth the purchase

I have nothing but good things to say about this app. This is my go to for quickly making excellent stencils. Figured I’d just try the free trial and bounce, but had to pay for it after I realized there’s no better app for the job. Hands down the best purchase I’ve made for tattooing prep work. Thanks for the great app!

We're stoked you're loving the app! Thanks for the kind words!
  • Hidden monthly subscription

There's a hidden monthly subscription as soon as you open the app and there's no way to get past the screen unless you pay

    Developer Response

We do offer a free trial period for new users, which allows you to explore the app's features before committing to a subscription. There are no hidden fees or subscriptions in our app. If you encountered any issues bypassing the subscription screen, it may have been a glitch, and we sincerely apologize for that. We value your feedback and are continuously working to improve the user experience. Please reach out to our support team at support@ghostline.app so we can assist you further and ensure you have access to the free trial.
  • Don’t buy

Horrible only lets you choose from 3 options and each doesn’t let you thin or stencil an outline only makes the image color light or dark waste of money
  • No need for this app to be subscription based. Cheaper/better alternatives are available

It does what it says, but I would love to know why this app utilizes a subscription model? Does it provide a myriad of new features every month or every year? Does it use heavy bandwidth for the developers? Did it cost millions in capitol to create this app so they have to recoup the costs in perpetuity? A subscription model makes sense for something like the Adobe Suite, where you are literally bombarded with new features and updates every month. In this case, it is a simple as greed. Again it is a good app, but you don’t have to choose a subscription model for the sake of siphoning money from people every month/year for an app that simply creates stencils. Other apps provide this at a fraction or the cost for a one time cost. This is not a comprehensive editing suite. Currently this app’s subscription is set at $6/month or $60/year. Compare this to Adobe Express, which gives you Photoshop Express and Adobe Firefly, costing $10/month. We all enjoy making money, but please be reasonable.

Thank you for trying Ghostline out and sharing your thoughts. While we won’t comment on the pricing decisions of other developers or applications; we are happy to explain the rationale behind our subscription model. We are a tattooer-owned & operated company; with zero outside or corporate funding. We built this ourselves and, furthermore; it takes a lot of time away, from our own tattooing, to build and maintain and update this app. Ghostline is more than a stencil generator. Our photo Upscale tool enhances the quality of lower resolution photos so you can have better reference and better stencils than with any other application. Our unique Print Layout tool is one of the best features of the app, which allows you to scale and grid your stencils to ANY size you need, automatically (print a full body suit sized stencil, with ease). The editing and reference abilities are also super helpful. We have actually launched 5 unique updates, in less than a year, so that is about one new update, every other month or so. We have been working diligently and tirelessly on the next update; which is going to be our biggest and best one, yet, as a matter of fact. On top of that, we are still tattooing and working, full-time, and working on other innovations for the tattoo community. We are building the best products that we can; while focusing, solely, on tattoo artists and their specific needs. Our goal is to save our customers as much time as possible, and we feel that our current pricing reflects the value of the unique tools we offer. The subscription price serves to grow the app and the features, and we're certainly working on some big ones (all of which will be available to users, as part of the existing fee). We understand if you don't find the value in the app and the subscription model but please let us know how we can improve. Half of our updates have been directly influenced by ideas from our existing users! If you're willing; we would love to have you stick around a bit -- 2024 is going to be a crazy year :)
  • Stiff Rakoon Ink

I have a studio in downtown HB at Pacific City, and this is my go to stencil app, saves time!
  • Great app, won’t be subscribing

Unfortunately the subscription service has made my mind up for me. Procreate isn’t perfect, but it’s worth penny. If the charge were the flat 50-60$ I’d definitely buy the program, but the pay to play platform and I disagree on a fundamental level. I’m passing on this because of the greedy nature of the marketing. Had to kick photoshop to the curb for the same reason. I’ll be back when this becomes reasonable.
  • Free to download , pay in app

Kind of a weird type of false advertising. So it’s free to download so you think you lucked up just to get to the splash page and hit with a paywall
  • If you tattoo, you need this!

I’ve been using Ghostline since the launch and I can’t tell you how many times this app has saved me time, work, and energy. The filter used for this stencil process is definitely unique and super efficient. I’ve been using photoshop/illustrator/procreate to achieve a similar effect but this is so fast and it’s perfect every time. This is incredibly useful for more realistic style tattooing but can also be used for simple designs… simply run it through Ghostline after you’ve lost all your resolution in procreate from resizing. Oversize print option has been a life saver working as a guest artist when you don’t have all your tools and comfort of working at home base. Client wants to change there design? No problem, Ghostline. Can’t print oversize with procreate off iPad? Ghostline. Resize? Ghostline.
