Basic but really useful
There is no doubting the apps capabilities are basic. But to be fair the finished product if you take your time is actually quite good.
Yes there is noise you could do without, but I find that is more if I make the picture to large.
All in all for a free app, it’s is great for practicing on before buying more expensive software.
I’m not giving it 5 stars because it is amazing, but because it is free, it does what it says and actually for armatures, it’s ideal as a starting point.

New update fixed my issue
After the most recent update (as of the time of posting) has fixed the issues with my iPhone 15 pro max.
Wow!
Does nothing! Running a brand new iPhone 15 Pro iOS 18.0.1. I set the parameters and then press the shutter. It counts down and then does nothing. I’ve yet to achieve a single photo. The developer claims to have recently updated for barely noticeable bugs. No results at all with the app is truly barely!!

Does not work
On the iPhone 16 Pro Max, i can do only one picture, the quality of that picture is terrible and after that the app keeps crashing.
Great App for beginners
I have very little experience in astrophotography let alone normal photography. In about 15 minutes and 5 pictures I got a beautiful shot of stars. An introduction to the parameters that affect an image and a lot of enjoyment bring the photos to life.
Frustrated…
I downloaded this app last week but I’ve not really used it “properly” until tonight (Fri 11th Oct ‘24). I did try it for a few minutes when I first downloaded it and I was very impressed, but…
I tried it tonight, to fully get acquainted with it (due to me flying out from the U.K. to Nevada next week) and the app is permanently crashing. As soon as I open the app it freezes, which renders it unusable.
I’m using it on an iPhone 15 Pro Max with iOS 18.0.1 and the app is 1.0.20.
Please help !!!
Update: Weds 16th Oct ‘24.
The app seems to be fully working again so I will test it out over the next couple of weeks and then completely re-edit my review.

Please fix the app for iPhone 15 pro max
The app is freezing after opening on iPhone 15 pro max, I’ve tried to uninstall and reinstall the app with no luck. The app worked great on my iPhone 13 pro but hasn’t worked since upgrading to the 15 series.
Great, remote support would be good
This app is amazing!
Primary issue is that when I touch the screen to capture, it causes instability. I bought a remote that works over Bluetooth, but it expects the volume down button to map to the “capture” button to work. If you could program support for volume down to capture image like the built in iPhone camera utility does, that would make my four stars a five star review!
Also, there’s no other way to contact the developer, other than to post this request in the review section.
For the record, this app worked better than I expected! I love the preview feature when it starts building a stacked view in real time, which helped to verify I was on target before the actual capture.

Great app, just won’t work with my 16 Pro yet
The app actually force restarts my 16 Pro, works great on my 15 Pro though.
iPhone 16 Pro
Hello, I really use to enjoy using this app on my iPhone 13, however since upgrading to the iPhone 16 Pro my screen will either go black while still being able to access the settings. Or the camera works fine but won’t take a photo. I contacted Apple and they suggested I reach out to you about this issue. Is this a known issue so far with the new phones with AstroShader or will there be a new update coming out to fix this?

Response from developer
Thanks for reporting this. Looks like an iOS18 or iPhone16 bug in the app. Will aim to get it sort out soon... In the meantime, it also appears there are some camera issues with iOS18 (affecting all apps including the iOS camera app). It could be worth upgrading to 18.0.1 to see if this resolves the issue.
