  • Generous Game

    What a generous game!
    Thank you!
  • Froze

The same frozed on me I got hit with a lost soul that caused a soul storm
  • Ruined by annoying Candy Crush mini game

This is one of the better hidden objects game out there. The production value is high. That’s why it puzzles me that they have to force a crappy candy crush like mini game on you. This is a hidden objects game. If I wanted to play candy crush, I’d download and play that (or the hundreds of other ones like it). Not only that, the performance of the mini game is abysmal, even on an iPad Pro. So not only is this nuisance forced on you constantly, it runs like crap. Avoid this game until they can figure out what they’re doing.

  • Fun gameplay, cute characters, great story

Pretty much what it says in the title. Very well made game and story!
  • Good Game

Really fun to play however some scenes get annoying as the object your looking for is impossible to find without using hints
For example, a few times at Jackson Square what I’m looking for is behind the clock face but is absolutely impossible to see
  • Brilliant high quality detective game

I rarely write reviews but I want to tell Wooga how great of a job they’ve done with Ghost Detective. I’ve been playing it for a week or two now and I really love it.

The game design/theming are perfectly matched - progress through an interesting detective story by searching hidden objects. Once you have enough clues to finish the chapter, you actually have to make a proper deduction from the clues you gathered, rather than mindlessly moving forward. It’s so rare to play a detective story game where your deduction skills actually matter!
The match-3 mini-game also provides a nice break from the object searching. Plus there’s a satisfying object collection aspect, especially when running multiple investigations simultaneously.

New Orleans theming is lovely and very well represented in the art, music and story. It’s refreshing to discover a new side of the world we’re not used to seeing much in media.

The quality is extremely high on all grounds - art (UI, characters, VFX, 3D, animations), music (its so good it’s driving me to come back in the game and stay there), design, writing, performance. (The overall quality only feels a bit lower in the match-3 levels).

And I don’t feel any predatory pressure to play the game for hours every day - there’s the usual daily reward and goals mechanic, but that’s it and it’s not very aggressive either. The quality of the game itself is enough to make me want to come back 😄

Excellent work from Wooga, and please, is it possible to get the game soundtrack as an album to listen to outside of the game?? The Jackson Square one makes me feel so relaxed!

    Keep up the good stuff!

  • Good except…

I really want to love this game but the Stakeout mode is so incredibly frustrating. It takes about 7 or 8 times for me to get through all three rounds. I play lots of these types of games so I don’t feel like I’m a terrible player. Having to start back at level one when you fail level two or three is ridiculous, why can’t you just play the current level again to move on? Most levels are fine and if I fail I don’t mind having to play a scene again but the stakeout is just too much the way it is set up. If you are looking for relaxing seek and find this is not it, everything is timed. Might be nice to have the option to chose timed or not timed for a relaxed mode. Also not loving how the scenes are set up. Objects in the background are so small you have to zoom way in and then it is too big for the objects in the foreground, you spend so much time moving the screen around. I will say I like that the objects are not always the same. For example, a crane might be a construction crane in one scene but in another might be an origami crane. Kinda of cool, keeps things interesting! Great to be able to play this with a Netflix account, no ads and you don’t have to accrue energy to play a scene. I like the story line as well and having the option to choose from different responses when talking to other characters makes it a bit different for everyone. All in all a good game just hate the stakeout, more time even would be good. I am usually short about 4 items when time runs out every time.

  • Blocks when discovering a new area

Game is pretty entertaining with cool features. But at level 3 the first new area to discover it doesn’t do anything….. just pulsates into the place I should touch and the entire game is bloked.
  • Awesome game!!

Graphics and storyline are so cool!
