Great game
I’ve plaid a lot of this style of game ands I’ve got to say that this is definitely the best in its genre. Someone actually put some thought into this one. It’s definitely got better enemies and graphics. Overall gameplay is definitely more satisfying. Will not be deleting this one after 15 minutes. I’ve only been playing it for around 10 minutes and I can tell that it’s going to be a great time killer. Can’t even get past the title screen
No matter what I do. Close out, reopen, uninstall, reinstall. Can’t even comment on the game bc i’m not even sure what it’s about at this point. But yeah, fix it.A tier survivors-like
Mobile survivors—likes are really hit or miss. Too many of them are nonstop ads and micro transactions. At first glance, Taco might seem like that. It has a store with different in-game currencies to buy with real dollars, it has an energy meter thing that (technically) limits how much you can play at any given time (although I’ve played. Lot and have never hit that limit), it has log in rewards, all that nonsense. BUT! You can easily disregard all of that. It doesn’t matter.
You’re left with a quality game. Different characters that have different starting weapons. Different maps. Lots of different enemies. Lots of variety in weapons. Meta-progression that feels meaningful for individual weapons, individual characters, and general skills (except there are things like increasing chance for poison effect by 1% at a time, yeesh). Item drops in the middle of runs. “Scavenger hunt” (kinda like quests) to run if you’re feeling under-leveled. It's missing one of my favorite things (weapon evolutions) but that’s a minor gripe.
It’s kinda easy but not too easy that you steamroll the whole thing. I’ve definitely hit a couple maps that need multiple tries. But it’s also not stupidly hard or slow to make progress. As far as mobile games go, this one takes cues from both the cash-grabby ones and the legit passion project ones. You can tell these folks care about their game but are also earnestly trying to compete against all the mindless trash apps. If you’ve played Vampire Survivors to death and are bored of Brotato, this one’s for you.Developer Response
