  • Potential

As a enter the gungeon player and rogue-lite fanatic this game quickly attracted my attention and I can say for its first day out it has its potential. However, it lacks in many things that make a rogue-lite stand out.

    For example:
    - lacks diversity in weapons: most weapons are nearly identical with the exception of some rare ones. Even with chips, they still feel bland and some genuinely unusable. There needs to be a greater variety to these guns as I thought a rogue lite out of all game genres should have a wide armament.
    - Runs aren’t rewarding: after a run all you do is simply start a new one. That’s it. Even though the runs may be fun at times playing for what seems a small upgrade to your bibot is simply just disappointing. Being able to beat your first boss for a single upgrade? Honestly sad. There should be currency that we can use to buy new Bibots or upgrade bibots ourself after every run. Cosmetics and more could also be an option.
    - Difficulty: Difficulty is really subjective but I feel like this game is well balanced UNTIL you get to boss fights where I feel like most of the time Bibots simply feel too weak. However, I also think there should be a reward to beating the game and difficulty modifiers which reward the player for playing on said difficulty. There are also an unforgiving amount of enemies and rooms in the early levels which continues until into other biomes. Feels repetitive and just boring after some point. There should be mix ups between biomes!

Lastly these are some nit picks but things I found disappointing or just Need to be improved:

    - main menu: boring and simply unfun to look at
    - there should be a main lobby after pressing play. Going straight into a game after choosing your character almost feels to straight forward. I would love to have a main lobby where my characters are with maybe a feature to costomize it with artifacts you may find or runs etc.
    - controls: controls for me personally are too close and some, like the dash button, are too small. There should be an option where you can move and resize each individual button for better control experience.

In the end thanks for reading, hope this reached the devs and they are looking into such things. In my opinion, take further inspiration from games like soul knight, dead cells and enter the gungeon to elevate this game and it will truly shine after a few fixes.

  • Fix your bugs

Great gameplay and smooth control system. Found two bugs right at the beginning of the game. The game got stuck during tutorial after grabbing the poison chip and killing the enemies I the next room, nothing happened and the doors were closed. Had to replay from the beginning at that room, a level up was supposed to be triggered to teach the level up point system. After finishing the tutorial started one play through and when I was in the weapon menu to add a chip, the close button at the top right corner would no execute its intended action.

  • It’s has tons of potential but the controls are bad.

I mean the game is great, looks like a very polished rogue-lite. BUT the controls are horrendous, who in their right mind doesn’t give an option for a sticky virtual joystick? Why the only option for it is to be fixed in the very corners of you phone screen? I mean how ridiculous! The market for mobile games right now is huge, I don’t understand how devs didn’t pick up on such a simple thing as customisable UI/controls. Even the ability to move the fixed joysticks would improve the game dramatically. I mean my thumbs aren’t tiny and short, sorry! Makes the game almost unplayable and definitely unenjoyable. Otherwise the game is great, just really needs controls revamp or more options for customisation. I won’t delete/refund the game and wait for an update, I’ll change my rating then.

Just had a look at the developer’s other games, I actually have at least 4 of their other titles on my phone, they should really know what they are doing. Hopefully an update is soon.

  • Fun But Buggy

I think this has potential to be great, but right now the bugs are really getting in the way. Three separate times I’ve been in the middle of a decent run and I get trapped in the inventory screen — clicking on the x to close the menu won’t register. There are also some smaller annoying ones, like the level up meter getting stuck on a loop until you can move to a new biome. Most frustratingly, there’s no save feature and leaving the app idle in the background for too long loses all progress. Autosaving or the ability to leave an app in the background is essential for a mobile game and it’s really disappointing to not see it here.

Fix the bugs and it will be a pretty solid Gungeon-clone! I wish there was more meta-progression between runs, as of now you can really only add modifiers to your Bibots attacks (essentially a mech-like “ultimate ability” kind of thing that you only use a few times each floor), and there’s no way to improve the pilots stats or start with different weapons etc. It feels pretty good though and there are some cool weapons, items and random room events.

  • UNRESPONSIVE BUTTONS AND MENU

I understand some bug fixes were released but some buttons are unresponsive at times and the game bugs out. For example the menu malfunctions and you can’t press other icons on the screen.
  • Epic & heavily underrated

    Brilliant game.
All this needs is 2 player co-op/pvp & will be perfect.
Think Link to the Past’s dungeon style merged with Smash Tv in a rogue lite package & ya get Bibots.
Difficulty curve might need reducing to appease a wider variety of gamers.
    Top stuff devs! ^^
  • Pretty good but…

I wish we could change the sensitivity its too high and i want to be able to customize my hud buttons. We are on mobile not console or pc. Also sometimes it is hard to see your character when dodging or moving when there are a lot of bullets on screen.
