  • My worst purchase of the year

A meditation coach suggested I buy the inner balance device from Heartmath. I must say I was a bit dumb for not doing my own research. My rationale was HRV is such a basic and old technology, you would guess it’s pretty easy to make reliable device by now. Oh boy how wrong I was. Heartmath is pure trash. The sensor is completely messed up, the app is so bad, the output is just random garbage. I wish I bought a muse or some type of EEG device instead, they’re slightly more expensive but at least it’s the real deal. The sad part is it costs $10 or less to make this device in China and they sell it for $250. Complete scam

  • Love this!

I’ve been using hearth math for quite some time. I recently purchased a new monitor with the new app and BOY! Do I love it!!! I find this one to be much better and easier to use. I love all the features it offers. Highly recommend!!
  • No wired option for device

If you buy the newest sensor (Inner Balance Coherence Plus) be aware that the cord is very short and the bluetooth transmitter part of the device will be right against your body. The sensor only works with iPhone via bluetooth. Probably most don't care about this, but just a heads up to those that are sensitive. When using the app, the screen will go to sleep. There is no option to disable sleep like other apps have. So, if you’re looking at the imagery to sync your breathing, the screen will go dark after a while. You have to tap the screen to return. This disrupts the meditation. I emailed support about this and they said I need to update the app to the latest version. I am using the latest version. The resources, however, are very good.
  • Connectivity Issues

I have practiced HeartMath for years using the other app. Since I started using this app about a month ago, I find it drops the connection randomly in the middle of some HeartMath sessions. I've tried multiple new sensors, and they connect initially but then they drop, sometimes within seconds, other times at a couple of minutes, I never know when it will happen. As a result, I end up feeling frustrated rather than any kind of ease, as is HeartMath's intention. It frustrates me that I have invested in the expense of the new sensor for this. I decided to bump the rating up to two stars because when it works, I like this app's offerings for learning. Overall, I wish HM still made the old sensor or a lightning cable that's compatible with newer devices so I could go back to using them with the other more reliable app.

  • Doesn’t Work with Camera :/

I was excited to try this out, but every time I try to start a session with my finger over the lens, it will start the session & then immediately end it saying that it lost connection & I need to try. But I didn’t move my finger off the lens! Super frustrating. May just delete this app as its kinda useless now.
  • Hearthmath

I am in live with this app. It prepares me everyday to make the best of what comes my way. So happy if can across it in a book I read titled The body keeps the score. I send 20 to 30 min a day. 🩷🩷🩷
  • Disappointed and looking elsewhere

I have had the lightning cable sensor for about 8 years and it still works but the app is old and has always been VERY buggy. Refusing to connect even though I know it’s the app not the decision… ugh. I would consider buying a sensor + except for the reviews stating that the new app (this one) crashes and has problems connecting as well, which I believe because even though the earpiece has been high quality and durable, it’s still probably on its way out eventually. All the options including the subscription service fee is exorbitant. Has this method helped me? Yes. But are there free or one-time-fee ways to meditate? Yes.
  • Improved app but….

I got the new sensor to be able to use this app. The app itself is wonderful, but they should have used a narrator for the practices that was better. The woman doesn’t have the most soothing voice and she talks a little fast. My coherence goes down by several points when I listen. So just be aware when you purchase — there’s not a lot of variety in case you don’t resonate with the voice either.
