Bought brand new 9 and it tells me a watch 8 or newer not detected.

Hi, To fix your issue, please ensure you are wearing your watch to bed while sleeping to make sure the watch is able to take an accurate temperature measurement. In addition please make sure you have a sleep schedule set up, as this is the only way the watch is able to take a temperature reading. Hello, please ensure that you are utilizing the “bedtime” feature found inside the Clock app or Health app. All it will take is one nights sleep for Temperature readings to take place.
