Why is this not on Garmin
Replaced conventional shot timer
I’ve been using this app as a Beta tester for about 8 months and around 10,000 rounds of mixed rifle, pistol and shotgun shooting (including trainup for an IPSC World Championship). I’ve also used the app for students in training courses with 12+ shooters all firing at once and collecting their own *individual* shot times (saving hours of class time that can be put back into teaching) - a capability that did not exist before the Recoil watch app.
Awesome product
Great app for indoor and outdoor range use!
Great so far.
Finally, a developer that listens...
Side note - To those saying it doesn't work due to them wearing their watch on their non-shooting hand... stay with me here.. I know things can get confusing. I also wear my watch on my support hand on a daily basis, but when using the app, it's as simple as taking it off one wrist and putting it on the other. It really is that easy, and then the app will properly count shots, due to the recoil impulse. If you use the app and have it on your support hand, of course it won't register correctly. Your support hand is just that, SUPPORTING. It's keeping your grip tight and minimizing any movement in your grip and lessening the recoil impulse, which the app absolutely needs in order to register shots. You can also adjust your sensitivity settings to better manage this. The app DOES WORK! It may require you to make minor, temporary wear characteristics while using the shot timer, but it's just that... minor & temporary. As soon as you're done, put the watch back on your support hand, as usual everyday wear.
I'm not a developer, but I have been slowly trying to help the devs with bug & email support since the initial release, when prices were far too costly. They have listened and have drastically dropped the overall fees associated with the main app. These devs are good people and listen to their user base. Saying the app doesn't work simply because you're not wearing the component correctly (even when it details exactly how in the settings, prior to use), isn't exactly fair, because it does in-fact work. Swap wrists for the small amount of time during usage and you'll see.

The free version of the app allows shot timing on the Apple Watch for one drill at a time without a subscription. Once you have recorded a drill it will appear in the Recent Drills section on the phone. With the free version you will be able to view the details of the most recent string. Recoil Pro enables other features such as a detailed history of past drills, custom stats, or controlling the watch on the phone. To try out these features we offer a 14 day free trial for Recoil Pro. Thank you for your feedback. We hope you enjoy Recoil Shot Timer!
Won’t work for me…

We recommend wearing your watch on your trigger hand while shooting, and then switch it back once you're done. We've noticed this little adjustment significantly enhances the AI shot detection's accuracy on your trigger hand. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause you. Our goal is always to ensure you're getting the best accuracy possible.
$10 a month is ridiculous.
