  • While I haven’t had issues, they never update the app or headphone firmware

They never update the app or the firmware for the PerL Pros.
  • Too personal

This app is horrible!!! They want you to agree to allowing third parties to have access to your information to even use this app. I think that’s way too personal just to use some earbuds. Needless to say I will be sending them back, and buying a different pair of earbuds.
  • Great Performance from the headphones BUT

Many years of experience with a variety of high performance audio gear and headphones. I am satisfied with the overall sound quality but also agree on on the weakness of app as pointed out in other reviews. However there is one other thing that I suspect is because of a mismatch in what the iPhone software thinks the headphone volume is versus actual sound being produced. I am getting constant IOS reminders that the headphones levels are too loud for safe listening. In reality the volume is set to maximum just to be able to get a moderately loud enough listening level.
