I love this game but I can’t pay for itMade me cry (in a good way)
Okay, I have literally never left a review before for pretty much anything ever. This game was so relaxing and the art was so creative. The story was my favorite part. I am a therapist for teens struggling with their mental health and so much of this game felt relatable on the topics we discuss. I’m not sure if you were trying to explain empathy, love, and grief, but you hit the nail on the head! And you displayed making meaning out of those things so well (which is a skill we try teaching)!
I can’t wait to play this game as a mindfulness group with them! I literally was having such a bitter sweet sob at the end of this! And the firefly story, ugh, that’s how I feel about some of my kiddos really struggling with suicidal ideation. I’ll never know once they are discharged if they were able to fly with their healed wings or not. Such a great app, especially if you are able to truly appreciate it!Developer Response
This was amazing to read, thank you so much! Empathy, love and grief were all themes that came with the general theme of growing and moving through life. We're glad it came across in such positive way. We're also personally very glad that you're considering it for use in therapy! If you want, you can contact us at hello@mucksgames.com, we'd love to find out how that plays out and if we can support you in some way :) All the best - JuliusArt.
The mobile game landscape is maybe the least artistic sphere of creation out there but of course every medium has potential and the bear taps into a soft and comfortable sadness that brings unparalleled accessibility to a quality story experience. With clear inspiration from children's stories like the little prince it tackles complex subjects in a beautiful and simplistic way that anyone can enjoy. I hope this is a turning point for mobile games. Thank you to the people who worked on the game for demonstrating the medium’s potential.
