Description of 222

we won't tolerate a future where we're robbed of our attention and pulled into a virtual reality. 222 finds you the people you'll get along with and sends you to the places you'll love. this is not a dating app. this is not a friend-making service. this is not networking. this is not mindless scrolling. this is not random. this is not a distraction. this is not the metaverse. 222 is an opportunity to choose chance. no profiles, no DMs, no scrolling, no swiping. just say "yes" & explore the chance encounters you'd have never experienced. note: experiences are always in public & in a group setting. each member is vetted before being selected for an experience.

Reviews of 222

  • Anticlimactic onboarding

Was excited to try this app when I got an invite from a friend. Disappointed at the onboarding experience. As a new user you’re made to watch a 30 second cinematic cutscene, given an exhaustive mini personality test, only then to be blocked from proceeding until you invite 5 friends to use the app.

I find this experience of being held hostage from after some investment of signup time to be quite annoying. The exclusive vibe of the app initially drew me in, but I would prefer to try it out before blindly spamming friends with a random link. Only got so far as inviting 2 people before I deleted it.

    Other thoughts:
I’m gusssing this 5-person minimum filters out people who have fewer than a handful of friends (i.e. you will likely end up getting more socially outgoing/extroverted people on the app).

If one of the goals is for people to get out and meet new people, that doesn’t seem to be setting up a diverse pool of folks to meet.
  • 10/10

I think this app is exactly what the world needs. I love the concept. It’s so hard to make friends these days, but this app is the perfect solution. It’s so much easier than using something like Bumble BFF, because people are less likely to bail, and it’s a group setting so it’s not awkward. And you don’t have to plan anything, you just show up and have a good time! I’ve never heard of anything else like it. I can’t stop talking about it
  • Make the contact friends optional

I think this app has really great potential the only downside is that it should be optional to contact or send the app to friends with the 3 prompt questions. Those questions should be about the user. We don’t need to unnecessarily text our friends the app. Please make that part of the sign up optional.

    Developer Response

Hi Nay nay 08, we have since made those prompts optional. the purpose of these prompts is to help 222 curate even better people for you, but we understand that not everyone wants to share that information immediately. we're glad you're enjoying your experience with 222 so far—please text us if you have any additional feedback.
