Reviews of DumbPhone

  • Awesome for what I want to use it for

I’m very grateful for this app because it is exactly what I wanted without an annual cost for a widget. Tutorials were clear and informative. Setup was quick. I’m still getting used to it, and I think this will help me accomplish my goals of being more mindful of my phone usage.
  • Primitive and Confusing

The application is very primitive and does not have any comfort features, as applications must be added one by one, which is very boring. Also, there are applications that I do not have, and there are applications that do not appear to be added. This application is confusing and needs to be developed to serve the purpose comfortably and correctly. I do not want applications that I do not have to appear to me, and I want to see my applications appear. I also do not want to spend my day trying to add my favorite applications.

    Developer Response

Thanks for the recommendation, I will add the ability to add multiple apps at the same time. Unfortunately, there is currently no way to identify the apps installed on your device to display them in a more intuitive way.
  • Could Be Perfect, Major Flaws

I chose this app for the price & simplicity of setup, and in thar regard, the app is great, many of the subscription model options on the app store are at best overpriced & at worst predatory. Unfortunately, as it stands this app does not do what is promised, in that a core feature (adding your own apps & shortcuts) just does not work. It doesn’t matter what I try, or if i follow the tutorials provided exactly, if the app you have isn’t on the preset list (and let me be clear, the list is not great, it’s missing some of many of the most used apps on the app store) you’re going to struggle to add it to your widget or not be able to do it at all.

Once this issue is fixed, this app would be the best one available to people looking for a simple non-financially intrusive choice to make their phone lighter & break the habits of checking it, but right now, I’d avoid it.

    Developer Response

The problem has been fixed, please update to the latest version.
