  • Very clean, easy to use, and tons of features

This takes lemmy and gives it that Apollo experience that I miss from Reddit. It is easy to use, especially given the multiple instances. It’s a must have!
  • Sadly, this app has has major bugs

I’m surprised I tolerated this app for so long. I frequently share pics from lemmy with my chat groups, but the sharing features are quite bad as they don’t use the iOS built-in share sheet. On iPad, sharing often just doesn’t work. And, on the ugly side: sometimes I choose Copy and then paste a giant API error into my chat instead of an image. Also, lots of images in posts don’t appear. They’re just missing. I thought it was a Lemmy issue, but it was this app. No other clients do it. I didn’t give one star since a developer has to know about issues to fix them, but how can this get good ratings? It has multiple showstoppers which haven’t been fixed for months. I doubt I’d use it again unless the image sharing was ripped and replaced.

Hi there! That's strange, I haven't had any other reports of issues sharing! Can you please let me know your instance, and any specific posts with issues? Voyager is open source so you can either report on Github or via the !voyagerapp@lemmy.world community. Thank you in advance.

  • Show instances at top

Can you make a way for instances to show at the top of the page instead of after the photo? I scroll by looking at instances and skip past the ones I don’t care about. Having the instance at the top would be more efficient so I don’t scroll down then back up.

When you swipe to left on accident and get to the page with all the communities, there is no way to go back. You literally have start at the top and again and scroll until you’re back where you were at.

Hi there! As of Voyager v2.11.0 you can enable "Show Community at Top" in "Settings -> Appearance" which will show the instance (if remote/not yours) - e.g. community@instance.com Also if you don't want to see posts from a certain instance, I recommend blocking the instance. You can do so in "Settings -> Filters & Blocks -> Blocked Instances". As for returning to the feed and losing your spot - I recommend trying to turn on "Mark Read on Scroll" and "Auto Hide Read Posts" in "Settings -> Mark Read / Hiding Posts". That way, you will only see fresh posts in your feed. Let me know if that works for you!
  • It’s perfect! I love this app!

I am not a native speaker, sometimes I need to translate the word I don’t know. It provides a way to easily and freely select words and copy them. I really appreciate it! It’s a perfect app, I cannot pick out any flaws!

Thanks so much for the kind words! :)
  • Best Lemmy Client

Lemmy is a toxic hellscape of a place. It tropes to replace Reddit but somehow ends up being significantly more hostile and an even bigger echo chamber.

That being said, I have tried most of the Lemmy clients out there for iOS and hands down, Voyager is the best.
  • Great, but lacking profile pictures

Let me start by saying that this app is amazing. Voyager is a nearly (explained later) feature-complete Lemmy viewing app. I used to use Memmy, but switched to this one for a much more clean and smooth experience. I prefer this app above all others in almost every way…

    Except one.

It’s bewildering to me that Voyager doesn’t show you anyone’s profile pictures. Not on posts, not in comment threads, not even in profiles! I tried looking through my settings to see if there was some display option turned off, but nope. It’s just not a feature.

I would love to rate this app 5 stars, but the fact that it is lacking this very basic feature brings it down to 4.

Hopefully the devs see this comment and will implement profile picture support sometime soon. I will happily update this to 5 stars if they do.

  • A great way to use Lemmy

Voyager is a great replacement for Apollo for Reddit. All functionality I used to use in Apollo is here and works beautifully. Fast performance and rock-solid stability. Keep up the great work!
  • The best FOSS client for Lemmy.

Voyager is a feature rich client for Lemmy that makes browsing the threadiverse a breeze. I’ve been using it for roughly six months and it’s improved considerably in that time, to the point now that it’s vastly better than any other Lemmy clients I’ve tried.

The developer is very active both in terms of supporting the app and responding to user feedback. While there are quite a few Lemmy clients available on iOS this is my favorite. I can’t recommend Voyager enough.

  • Needs better gestures

The app is okay. Would be nice if there were accessibility gestures such as swipe anywhere to go back/forward. Disabling swipes in comments or posts does not make the app swipe anywhere to go back.
