I really do love almost everything about this app. It has some great features and is such a great creative outlet for those of us who love to design but don’t necessarily have the skills (such as drawing) to make our visions come to life. This app would be perfect if I felt like more designers were actually selling their items but I just scrolled through every design that is currently in campaign, which is upwards of 750 designs. Not even ONE of them is halfway to their goal, with the majority being at ZERO. That is actually what prompted me to write this review. I was looking at a specific user who I follow on Instagram and Tik tok and they have over 100K followers on each platform and they get tons of likes and comments on those platforms but they designed a handful of items on this app and they are not even 1/4 of the way to having any successful campaigns. I actually reserved two of their items but it seems no one else has. They have advertised many times on their social media and 3 of their designs are affordable but still no success. So if an influencer with great engagement cannot be successful on this app with reasonably priced items, then I’m afraid the rest of us don’t stand much of a chance. I don’t know what the success rate is of campaigns on the app but based off of what I see, it’s gotta be extremely low. I have one item in campaign right now and another one that’s generating a quote. The only people to reserve my item are my immediate family members and my husband who ordered 2 of it because he wanted to support me. I have shared it on Instagram of course but as I have seen, even if I had 100K followers, it probably wouldn’t make a difference. Perhaps the problem here is that most people are downloading your app to showcase their designs and use it as a medium to sell those designs and what you really need from your users are people who are looking to shop. If nothing changes and your users keep experiencing failed campaigns, then I see a huge fall off happening in the near future as users start to see that their designs are never successful. Your users will grow tired of putting time into their designs only to see them fail in the campaign stage and you will end up with a bunch of cancelled subscriptions and abandoned accounts. I understand that the campaign stage is not meant to be easy BUT to scroll through and see nearly every design with zero orders is very indicative that there’s an issue here. I would like to start seeing more successful campaigns in order to be excited for this app. There has to be some sort of remedy for this issue. Maybe you could change your approach by having two different sides of the app. Market it as either a place to design or a place to buy unique items with limited quantities. In order to do that, you need more items that are actually for sale and not just “in development”. Why not handpick designs in the campaign stage and push them into development so that you can have a more robust online store. When a design goes to the campaign stage, have a team that reviews the item and start handpicking designs that you want to produce. If you’re not confident in the design, then let it go through the normal campaign. I’m sure there will be financial losses incurred if the designs you choose end up not selling but this will be the only way you keep users engaged and subscribing to the app. You have to give us hope. Consumers want the item now and they want to be able to use something like Afterpay or Klarna to pay in 4. If your plan is to make money off of the subscription part of your app, that will be short lived as users get frustrated and cancel their subscription. There has to be some sort of change in order to prevent these constant failed campaigns I’m seeing. The concept is great and this app could be a game changer if more users had successful campaigns.
