  • Good game

The game wasn’t bad, but I suspect there are still some glitches. I am using iPad Pro with the latest iOS. I had problems with picking items to use. A few times thinking I was correct with what I was doing, clicked on the hint, and yes I needed to be in the area. Unfortunately had no idea of what to use, as I had used everything in my list, the hint button didn’t always show what to use and where. Had to resort to the guide and yes everything was correct to what I was doing. Unfortunately the game itself wasn’t playing ball. Had to try several times until the game acknowledged what should be taking place.
Apart from those glitches the game was good.

  • Four star game plus

This is a solid 4-star game with the usual good vs evil plot executed well. Graphics were excellent. I found no bugs and the game was a good length. The puzzles and HOs were good and the puzzle instructions helpful. I liked looking for the collector items and morphing objects, but I hate morphing objects in HOs. I brought my rating to 5-stars because, when I unlocked the game, I got a message that said “Thank you for your purchase”. It’s not that hard to say thank you, but very few actually do. Most say “You’re all set” or something equally dismissive. 5-stars for company and game.

  • Fright Chasers: Soul Reaper by LynxMinx

What can I say? It’s incredible and innovative and quirky, just what we love about Mad Head. For those of you experiencing any issues, please see my Director of Quality Assurance’s review. (Thank you, Drosietwo). It thoroughly explains how to use the camera, as well as the phone book. Nothing was actually wrong with the game, except for a slight lack of touchscreen sensitivity. Friendly Fox also resolved what wasn’t truly an issue; more so it was hitting the correct spot. Players, once a developer fixes an issue, it is necessary to update your review. It’s not fair to Friendly Fox to lower ratings because you are too lazy to do so. The developer is a stickler for excellent quality assurance, and also fixes issues immediately.
Newer players need to get used to the interactive style which is employed by Mad Head. It’s fast-paced, enjoyable and addictive to play. I love games which utilize paranormal themes, so this was terrific. If you love collectibles, there were plenty in the game, including the morphs in the HO scenes. You will enjoy examining objects from different perspectives, as well as using a camera to uncover secrets. You learn more of the storyline by finding runes in comics. When you get stuck, don’t give up! Look everywhere, because Mad Head is not as straightforward as Domini, for example. Inventory usage is more novel, you must move items to uncover other items, and for those of you who love puzzles, Mad Head provides plenty of them to work through. This game was lengthy inclusive of the bonus adventure, and I absolutely didn’t want to finish it. The quality assurance was terrific. Thank you to Friendly Fox for releasing this amazing adventure. You gave Mad Head a legacy and we are so grateful to you for doing so. Next up for Friendly Fox will be another installment of Dark City, but not until late September. I guess we will have to endure Domini in the meantime. This game deserves 5 stars. Gamers, this is a must-purchase fantastic paranormal adventure!
Note to KimTwilight: Welcome back! I’ve missed you.

  • Loved it!

I got past the phone book glitch by just restarting the game. After that, the game ran smoothly. Great storyline, great map, and I loved looking for the bonus items AND morphing objects in the HOP’s.

Also, don’t think I didn’t notice that little scene when inserting the flash drive in the laptop…it went in wrong the first time. I appreciate little details like that!

  • Frustrating

Graphics and character depictions drew me in (protagonist actually looks to be a mature woman in her 40s), but gameplay detracts from my pleasure. Ex: phone directory won’t permit selection of person of interest, and 2 or more items must be collected before they can be added to a puzzle BUT can only be placed one at a time instead of as a group. Tricky controls add to frustration. Might be a fun game once it’s patched. EDIT: Phone directory *will* work with enough fiddling around with magnifier. Game needs more work on controls and puzzle clarity.

  • Spooky and Frightfully Fun!

Thank you Friendly Fox for releasing yet another captivating Madhead game!

This game presents a satisfying cocktail that blends together a psychological thriller and the supernatural, instilling a steady sense of trepidation and intrigue in me as I explore the environments, and a feeling of apprehension, as though I'm about to become enveloped by a sinister force. You are a member of the Fright Chasers, a paranormal investigative group of gals who are searching for clues to solve the mystery behind a series of grisly murders within a small town.

The settings evoke an eerie ambiance, as demonstrated by haunting visuals, such as the old cemetery set within a remotely desolate location, enshrouded by darkness except for a few dimly lit candles. The cut-scenes capture hair-raising moments of suspense.

The HOS are highly interactive and contain some occasional embedded puzzles. Some of them are creatively designed, such as the globe puzzle in which you first match pairs of objects; then another scene opens in which you find multiples of objects. The puzzles are plentiful and diverse, although a bit too simple to solve. I like the old-school puzzle in which you move around various-sized bars to move the lock though the hole. There are three types of collectibles to acquire within most of the scenes, including the HOS. Take your time to poke around to discover them.

If I must gripe about something, I don’t like the tediousness of placing multiples of inventory items, one at a time. I’m pretty sure this mechanical aspect has been updated in most games years ago; maybe this design flaw is just confined to MH’s older games.

Finally, it looks as though FF issued an update to rectify the technical error some players were detailing (please note that I started playing this game on August 20). Thank you for that. Gameplay has been seamless. I give this game a big thumbs up!
