More

1.1.0

October 3, 2015

• Added Audiobus Remote triggers (tap-hold on crash triggers for cymbal chokes). https://audiob.us/remote. • Increased volume level for the tom drums. • Updated Audiobus SDK 2.2.2 • iOS 9 compatibility. • Changed DrumKick's default Background Audio setting to off to save battery life. Background audio can be accessed from DrumKick's Settings > MIDI Setup > Background Audio switch. You will need to enable background audio in DrumKick in order to hear its audio, if it's being sequenced from a MIDI-enabled app in the foreground, such as FunkBox, Xynthesizr, or Cubasis. Attention: IK Multimedia has updated their BlueBoard app to make it compatible with iOS 9. If you're planning to use your BlueBoard foot controller with DrumKick on iOS 9, please be sure to install the update! :) *** Thank you for your support! *** Please feel free to rate and review DrumKick in the App Store. 1.0.9

September 15, 2015

• Updated Audiobus SDK 2.2.1 • Improved open hi-hat hits that layers the sound sample, rather than restarting it. • You can now trigger the kick drum, or any of DrumKick's available instruments, with the iRig BlueBoard or other MIDI foot controllers, such as the Keith McMillen SoftStep. The foot-tapable instruments can be selected via DrumKick's Settings > MIDI Setup > Received Program Changes. Don't forget to enable the BlueBoard app at the bottom of the MIDI Setup screen in the MIDI Interfaces section. Also, be sure to disable "Allow Bank Settings" in the BlueBoard app settings. Otherwise, the pedal switches will trigger upon release, rather than press. Thanks to Nic Grant for his fantastic MidiBus library and generous support. http://www.audeonic.com Please feel free to rate and review DrumKick for this new version—even if you've already done so, in the past. I apologize to those who were affected. • Added accessibility labels and hints for the visually impaired. http://mattgemmell.com/accessibility-for-iphone-and-ipad-apps/ • Reduced DrumKick's overall file size from 38.3mb down to 25.4mb. • Removed the text from the app icon.

1.0.7

June 18, 2015

Version 1.0.7: • In addition to triggering the remote kick drum sound with a Bluetooth-enabled iPhone or iPod Touch in your sock, you now have the option of triggering it by tapping its touchscreen–with your super clean, bare foot. This method is intended for incredible accuracy. Sure, it's not the most sanitary way to play the drums, but it works! Simply apply some tape on the backside of your iDevice to keep it from slipping on the floor, and tap the face gently with your big toe. :) Disclaimer: I'm not responsible if you step on your iDevice too hard & break it. Please tap gently. Further updates: • Corrected the choke cymbal holds that were not always "choking" on the iPhone. • Some of the glowing highlights in edit mode weren't disabling when the crash 15" cymbal was tapped. • Fixed the header and footer wonkiness in the Settings menu on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. • Changed the appearance of the Settings menus. • Posted new App Preview videos to the App Store for iPhones 5-6 and iPad formats. Please feel free to rate and review this updated version of DrumKick in the App Store–even if you've submitted a review in the past. This is because the Apple resets DrumKick's star ratings and reviews with each new update. As an independent developer, your feedback will allow me to make further improvements, and continue to make DrumKick the best drum app that I can. 1.0.6

May 15, 2015

Version 1.0.6: • Core and Virtual MIDI support, thanks to Nic Grant of Audeonic Apps for his robust MidiBus Library (http://midib.us) and generous help. You can customize input and output MIDI note maps, so that DrumKick can easily play or be played by other MIDI-enabled apps and hardware. Suh-weet! • Added a Background Audio switch, so that you can hear DrumKick's audio while playing with other MIDI-enabled apps in the foreground. Background audio is disabled by default, so that it won't drain your battery. • Updated Audiobus SDK 2.1.6 • Added new content in the Help & Tips section for potential MIDI or Audiobus related questions. • NOTE: The 3D animated cymbals have been disabled to save memory for use with Audiobus and Inter-App Audio with multiple apps. Please feel free to enable the 3D animations from within DrumKick's app settings. Please feel free to rate and review this updated version of DrumKick in the App Store–even if you've submitted a review in the past. Bug fixes: • The iPhone 4 & 4s devices on iOS 8 were receiving the 4" layout, instead of the 3.5" layout. So, the hi-hat and cymbals were being cut off on the right-hand of the screen. • The kick drum sound was still being triggered, despite turning it off with the crash cymbals. • The tom drums were missing the different volume level triggers for the vertical hit points. I apologize to all who were affected. Thanks again for your patience and support! Please send DrumKick issues or questions to: feedback@drumkickapp.com I cannot respond via the App Store reviews, if you don't leave your contact information. But, please feel free to leave a glowing app review, if you're enjoying DrumKick. :) Happy playing, and enjoy!

1.0.4

Woo-hoo! DrumKick is finally compatible with Audiobus and Inter-App Audio! Now, you can record and add your favorite reverb, delay, chorus, and/or compression to DrumKick's audio output with the third-party apps that you know and love. Thank you for your patience! Please note: If you plan to run DrumKick simultaneously with multiple apps via Audiobus or IAA, please disable the 3-D cymbal animations by following these steps: 1. Go into DrumKick's Settings menu via the gear icon. 2. Scroll down to the "3-D animations" toggle switch, and turn it off. 3. Quit DrumKick. 4. Launch the Audiobus app. 5. Select DrumKick for the input audio route. 6. Play your heart out and have fun! Known issues: 1. Missing UI panel for controlling the playback and recording from an Inter-App Audio connected app. 2. The right crash cymbal's glow does not disappear upon exiting drum edit mode. Simply tap on a different cymbal or drum to turn it off. Upcoming features: 1. Recording functionality, so that you can share your performances via email, export to AudioShare, AudioCopy, SoundCloud, and iTunes File Sharing. 2. Metronome with visual beat indicators, volume level, BPM, and meter control. 3. Access directly to you iPod music library with playback interface. 4. Hopefully implement the transport view controller for IAA-connected apps. Thanks again for your patience and support! Please send DrumKick issues or questions to: feedback@drumkickapp.com I cannot respond via the App Store reviews, if you don't leave your contact information. Happy playing, and enjoy!

1.0.3

Version 1.0.3: DrumKick for iPhone's Rate/Review and Share links were pointing to the universal iPad/iPhone build of DrumKick, and not the DrumKick for iPhone-only versions. Version 1.0.2: • This update is optimized for iOS 7! You can now pair your iOS devices via Bluetooth, and play the kick drum sound with your foot! Thanks so much for your patience! • The "Help & Tips" section from within DrumKick's Settings menu, has an improved walkthrough set-up with screenshots for connecting your iOS devices together to play the remote kick drum feature, via Bluetooth. Just remember to install DrumKick on both devices, or it won't work! • The app's filesize was reduced from 48mb, down to 27mb! This saves your valuable storage space, and even allows you to download your DrumKick update over the air, and not wait for a Wi-Fi connection. Suh-weet! • Automatically disabled the iPhone's idle timer, so that it won't go to sleep while it's being used as a foot remote for the kick drum. Thanks again for your support and patience! This update was long-overdue, and I can't wait for you to check it out. Please feel free to rate and review DrumKick in the App Store. As an independent developer, your feedback will allow me to make further improvements, and make DrumKick the best drum app that I can. Reviews: http://www.musicappblog.com/drumkick-music-app-review/ DrumKick is the only stereo drum app that allows you to play the kick drum with your foot! With DrumKick installed on two iOS devices, such as an iPad and an iPhone, you can use the iPhone as a Bluetooth remote to play the kick drum with your foot! It also works with two iPhones or iPod touches. Or, you can mix and match. How does it work? Playing the virtual kick drum pedal is achieved by inserting the iPhone (upside down) into a snug fitness band that's wrapped around your ankle, or the front tube of your relatively clean crew sock. Tap your toes with your heel down, and the iPhone's accelerometer will trigger the kick drum sound on another iPhone or iPod touch via Bluetooth. Feature Highlights: • Play the kick drum sound with your foot, using a second iOS device via standard Bluetooth connection. • High-quality drum stereo sounds with independent control of their volume, pitch and pan levels. • Low-latency with drum taps and sounds. • Retina-enhanced, interactive, 3-D animated drums and cymbals. • Multiple tap regions for triggering different drum and cymbal sounds. • Ability to switch the drum kit's audio output from stereo to mono when connected to stereo speakers, such as a P.A. system. • Touch-hold on the crash cymbal for a choked cymbal* muting effect. • Audiobus & Inter-App Audio support (iOS7+) for adding effects apps to DrumKick's output and recording into to GarageBand, Loopy, or AudioShare. • Audiobus Remote triggers that you allow you to play DrumKick's sounds via a secondary iDevice with the Audiobus Remote app installed. Requires the Audiobus app, iOS 8.3 +, iPad 3+, and iPhone 4S+. https://audiob.us/remote. • Core MIDI IN & OUT support, thanks to Nic Grant of Audeonic Apps for his robust MidiBus Library. http://midib.us. • MIDI over Bluetooth support. • Play any of DrumKick's available sounds, using the iRig BlueBoard MIDI Bluetooth or KMI SoftStep foot controller. Requires Bluetooth LE-enabled iOS device such as the iPhone 4S, iPad 3, or higher. • Jam along with music apps that run in the background, such as GarageBand, Pandora, or your iPod music library. • Minimum requirements: iPad 2, iPhone 4S and newer devices are recommended. * No cymbals were harmed during the making of this app. If you have an issue or find a bug within DrumKick, please do not inform me about it in an App Review, since that method doesn't provide your contact information.
