Issues

It seems that ChatInbox requires use of Microsoft Authenticator to connect a Microsoft email address… which is a pain if you don’t already use MS Authenticator. Still, after going through the hassle of connecting MS Authenticator to my account and having to update access on every other device and app connected to MS Office, ChatInbox still would not connect… an ill conceived requirement.

Response from developer

Thanks for your feedback! ChatInbox navigates users to Microsoft site for authentication. It looks like Microsoft is asking for MS authenticator for multi-factor authentication. The account issue is not directly related to ChatInbox. Please feel free to reach out to "admin@innovatism.app" for any questions or suggestions.

Failed with basic email from Apple

I only used the application for about an hour and found that the ‘An app-specific password was generated for your Apple Account.’ email from Apple would not display the body. (It was displayed on a different email app I was trying out.) A bit annoying was the settings window would always exit out after drilling down to a specific settings window and closing it. This app needs more work, and testing.

Good Concept, Not 1.0

The concept is very sound, but to release an app that you can’t use keyboard shortcut or even normal keys like “delete” is a bit of a stretch. “Right click” actions was cool in Windows 95, not in 2024. I will monitor the app for updates, but right now I think its unusable as a daily driver.

Response from developer

Thank you so much for your feedback. Keyboard shortcuts are now supported, and we're continuing to enhance ChatInbox as it evolves. We’re working hard to bring more features, improvements, and fixes as quickly as possible. Your support and patience mean a lot to us as we refine the app!

Game-Changing Email App

This is the email app I've been waiting for years! The multi-dimensional organization of emails are incredibly helpful for managing both personal and work emails. Highly recommend to everyone.

Please fix some minor issues

Hey! This is the geatest mail app I've found for a while! Extremely useful organizing options. But please can you fix sunc issues. I have gmail account and i don't have an access to spam/trash folders at all. also some of the emails just not visible from inside tha app, but they're definitely in my inbox. I assume this is some gmail-internal mail labels issue. please fix i want so bad to throw out all other oldschoool useless mail apps!

Response from developer

Thank you so much for your feedback! We're thrilled that you're finding our app useful for organizing your emails. Regarding the issue with spam and trash folders not syncing, this was initially designed to save local storage space. However, we understand that this might be confusing, as some users expect access to these folders. To address this, we'll be adding an option to include spam and trash messages in the sync, based on user preference. As for the issue with Gmail labels and folders, we do support custom labels and folders, but a bug is preventing them from displaying correctly after the initial sync. We're working on fixing this and both updates should be available within a week. Thanks again for your support!

Getting close...

I used another 'chat-style- email app previously and loved the concept, though the execution wasn't great. I stumbled upon this and figured I'd give it a shot. I do like some of the features - and would love to be corrected here - but there are some things missing (I did upgrade to Pro) that are preventing me from making the leap:
1. customization options, settings or preferences
2. email signatures
3. avatars in 'email' view

Are these nit-picky? Sure - they may not be important to anyone else. And, as I mentioned, maybe this is user-error. Just figured I'd get these out there.

Lastly, and this isn't app-related, the website is incomplete - the TEAM and FAQ sections still show the placeholder content.

I'll be keeping my eyes on the app and will happily give it another go if these items are addressed.

Thanks so much for the invaluable feedback and great suggestion! We've added these feature requests into our development plan and release them in near future.

Got potential

I love how the app separates the subject lines yet keeps things grouped by the sender of the email. It makes it much easier to follow threads. I deal with a lot of group emails in my business and community HOA. However I can’t figure out how to attach an image from my iPhone library. It just connects to my files. Also I love the idea of groups, however I don’t see the point as I can’t attach the email addresses in the group to an email. It would be great to click on the group and start an email with all the addresses in the group.
I’d pay for the premium if these fixes were made. Especially attaching an image, not being able to do that is a deal breaker for me.

Response from developer

Thank you for your valuable suggestions, which have helped us better understand our users' needs and improve our product. We've taken your ideas—direct messaging to groups and support for photo attachments—seriously. Both features have been implemented in version 1.4.1, which we've submitted to the App Store for review. It should be available for update within 1-2 days. Should you have any more observations or areas you believe could be improved, please don't hesitate to share. Thanks again!
