Great line learning app
Response from developer
Hi Action! Thanks for the review! In the current version if you click on the search button you can then jump to a specific scene. In next version, clicking on the scene label in the title bar will bring up the scene list. In that list, scenes where your character has dialogue are highlighted. I was actually thinking about this last night. I'm not sure how to make this more discoverable without overloading the ui for people who don't need it, but there are 2 ways the app breaks down a script into smaller parts. One is it automatically recognizes action blocks starting with INT or EXT and marks those as scenes. You can change which blocks are marked as scenes manually in the edit mode (click on the three dots once you've selected an action block). The second way is by creating sections, which are accessible through the PRO mode (which is currently in a free beta). These are basically arbitrary portions of a script where you define where it starts and where it ends. They can be run by themselves and the self-tape module will let you tape them separately (so you don't run the whole script in your tape). You can turn on PRO mode by going to the settings and clicking on "Advanced settings". Please get in touch with me bcaspe@gmail.com if you have any questions! I'm more than happy to help!
Really helpful,

Thanks Jules! In the next version, self taping is going to be completely revised and I'm adding voice matching to allow the app to actually wait for you to finish your line before it moves on! Exciting times!
Screen size issues
That aside, it appears very handy.

Hi Londonister, Ah, thanks for letting me know. I'll look at the ui to see if I can make it more flexible.
5 star app though there is a problem with AirPod pros.

Hey Mr Yo Dude, Thanks for the feedback and I'm so happy you find it useful! I'll check into why that's happening. I have heard there is a lag issue with some Bose headphones but I'm not really doing anything special with headphones so they should work as any other music playing app. But I'll try to fix it!
Great app!

Thanks, Guy! Glad you find it useful!
Great app, great features, SUPERB support
Response from developer
Thanks for the great feedback! We really want this to be useful to as many actors as possible. While we can't implement every user request, we'll certainly do our best!
Love it !

Hi Ridah, that's great that you found the app helpful.
Scan page doesn’t work
Response from developer
Hi Norma, Thanks so much for the feedback and I'm very sorry you had a bad experience with the scan feature. We are definitely interested in improving the scanning and having it work as seamlessly as importing a pdf. Would you be able to provide some more details about your script? Is the script a stage play or a screenplay? If you are able, contact me at bcaspe@gmail.com and I'll look into what the app had trouble with in your case. A possible temporary work-around would be to scan in the text in another app and then copy the text into MyLine (using the create script from typing/pasting text). Obviously this is not ideal, but it could work until the scan feature is working correctly. For reference, there are specific rules the app follows when figuring out a script, such as the character names need to be in uppercase letters. Depending on the format of the script, the app might not know how to read it. There are also considerations with the limits of how good the scan is and how much that affects the app's ability to recognize the letters in the image. Usually a scan is not going to recognize everything perfectly, but it also certainly shouldn't completely break, which it sounds like it did in your case. Please send it to me and I'd be happy to take a look at it.
