  • Disappointed

It’s “sold” as some brilliant tool but it’s no value. As previous reviewers its cumbersome to scan and my phone diary just states “Filofax “ and I have to open another app. It’s like running two diaries. Would have loved this feature if it actually imported the detail into my online diary. Will be deleting the app and manually adding to my calendar - a lot quicker and more convenient.

  • Could be a lot better

A few key changes would make this more useful.

    1. Allow multiple photos per page. It is not unusual for me to have additional notes for a day, and being able to take multiple photos per entry before clicking “Done” would be helpful. (You can manually add a new photo by opening the already scanned Inklink page, add new, and then you can take a photo without scanning the QR code. Not obvious, and the existing photo appears so it looks like you will lose it. Turns out you don’t.)

    2. Adding to Reminders or Calendar hasn’t worked for me at all. It would be nice to have the option to add an event to a Calendar on the day of the note. Either embed the media in the calendar appointment or deep link back to the app. This would provide an alternative route from a day to a note.

    3. I allowed access to Photos in a specific Filofax album. The photos haven’t appeared. I was hoping this would give me a way to use the built in hand writing recognition to search my scanned notes, but it seems not.

    4. Take another look at the general UI. It’s not intuitive.

  • App Crashes

This is the first year I have seen a QR code on each day in my Filofax, so I thought I should give this a try as I have been a longtime Filofax user.

Too many steps to enter an event into this diary.

    1) Make an old style manual entry in my Filofax.

    2) Open the app. Click the “Add” button.

    3) Scan the QR code. Well, try to scan the QR code. The app crashed every time.

    4) Gave up and deleted the app.

I keep a paper diary because it is quicker to use and more secure than a digital diary.

  • Not exactly a helpful app

It would be helpful if there was a short instructional video before you start using the app. I signed up, gave it access to my diary, and the app just… sits there. Once you press new, it will take you to a date where you can put a photo of the event, name it, etc. but it’s not exactly any more helpful or quick than just adding it to the diary in your phone by yourself. By the time you’ve scanned the QR and taken the photo, you might as well have just added a note like ‘check filofax’ to your diary app of choice.

  • Pointless

I tried this and it’s a complete waste of time. But I’m wedded to my Filofax so I will check back from time to time to see if the developers have come to their senses and designed something useful.
  • Lots of extra steps. Only can be used with Apple calendar

Multiple steps are required to make this app show the appointment. It only syncs with Apple calendar, not Google calendar
  • Pretty rubbish!

I eagerly awaited my diary refills with QR codes and downloaded the app. How disappointed was I to find that firstly, the QR codes are really fussy about being scanned and then secondly, you have to enter all the info manually anyway!!!! The impression that Filofax gave was that this would provide an automated solution to carrying my A5 Filofax around all the time without feeling lost because I didn’t have it. NO this is not the case! I am more than capable of entering my appointments manually in my iPhone calendar and achieving the same result, because in essence this is all you’re doing, but in yet another App, apart from taking a photo of the page to add to the appointment. Which I could do in the calendar notes anyway! This is a pointless App! When the developers manage to work with AI and make it fully automated and integrated into the phone’s calendar app, then I might come back and use it!!!

  • Only works with their own QR codes

You can’t input entries in to the app without scanning a QR code first, there is no option to input the date manually.
I tend to transfer information from the digital domain to my organiser not the other way around.
