  • Garbage; plan and download FULLY well ahead of time

    Touring the Colosseum is already confusing enough. Frankly I think you should book a guided tour rather than rely on crappy tech. Anyhow, since this is about the app....

    Guess what? Cellular service at the Colosseum is terrible, and thousands of other people are trying to download it at the same time. And *after* you download the app, you need to download the resources for your tour. They are not small. And there is no wifi to download the app or the audio. So get the app well ahead of time someplace where you have wifi (this much I did), open it, and find and click all the download arrows, just in case.

    (Also bring headphones to the Colosseum, because the crowds are noisy.)

    As for the app itself, it only finished loading the audio after I was well into the Colosseum and it uses (vague, spotty) GPS to decide what to play, and my battery was about dead by that point (from all the downloading). So I ended up not using it at all. Waste of time and battery, this app was.

    This app downloads its audio after launch. Guess what? Cellular service at the Colosseum is terrible, and thousands of other people are trying to download at the same time. And they offer no wifi to download the app or the audio. So get the app, open it, and click all the download arrows someplace where you have wifi.
