All Versions of FaceSwitch

1.05

June 12, 2024

iPad version has been updated. With this update, on recent iPads equipped with the fast M1 chip or later, by setting the iPadOS multitasking features (Split View, Slide Over, or Stage Manager), “Face Switch” and other apps can be used simultaneously (on a single iPad). (Unfortunately, on iPads with other chips, it is not possible to use the camera simultaneously during Split View or Slide Over, and “Face Switch” will stop. On these iPads, use “Face Switch” alone in full screen mode.)

- "Ignore rapid movements" (of the mouth, face, eyes) and "Eliminate repeated output" functions have been added to the settings menu of each switch to avoid unintended switch activations. The bugs related to the features have been fixed in this version. - "Direct" (outputs on/off as it is) was added to the “Mode” of each switch. For instance, in the case of the “Mouth Opening" switch, the switch will be ON while the mouth is open with this mode.

Description of FaceSwitch

This app recognizes face movements using face tracking technology and control external switch devices connected via Bluetooth. This app supports eight different facial movements: "Open Mouth," "Close Mouth," "Turn Face Right," "Turn Face Left," "Turn Face Up," "Turn Face Down," "Open Eyes," and "Close Eyes." It recognizes these facial movements and displays frames or lines on the recognized facial parts. Depending on the degree of the facial movements, red squares representing the amount of movement for each part move right and left along the sliders on the screen. When these red squares cross the position of the threshold on each slider, a switch signal is output. This app can use either the front or back camera and recognize facial movements even when the camera is placed at a certain distance from the user. For the switch output, either the battery-operated switch "MaBeee" or "Relay" (Switch Science ISP1507 Bluetooth-Relay Board) for Bluetooth connection can be chosen, enabling control of devices powered by batteries or those that accept switch input. For more information on how to connect to "MaBeee" and "Relay", please watch the video on the following website. https://www.atac-lab-products.com/faceswitch/mabeee_relay_connection_en.mp4 FaceSwitch's FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions and Answers) are on the following website. https://atac-lab-products.com/faceswitch/QandA_en.html
