Quickly lost interest

Not enough variety. The game starts out great - once you get into a rhythm and figure it out you get excited to progress. I even paid for the no-ad version. Quickly realized the game becomes too simple and repetitive. You spend too much time waiting around for houses to build, and it also takes too long to even build up your supply of building materials.

All the lumber mills look the same with no change in mechanics and building houses doesn’t actually do come with any incentive. You can either upgrade to a “new” mill (which means restarting progress with all your stations… slow building and hoping you get the right cards to upgrade again) or stay in one spot so that you can develop houses faster. It makes you feel stagnant with no real incentive to keep going.

Bugs? Or intentional?

Very grindy game, with virtually no idling (they initially only let you have 2 hours offline) with everything behind a paywall. I paid to remove ads (which was more expensive than other afk games) and I still couldn’t progress because the game is set up so you can’t progress without spending gems or irl currency. Not sure if it’s a bug but the “fish points” which are used to develop manager cards, do not generate on their own with each order you fill like they’re supposed(?) to. I even bought the relevant fish manager but nothings changed. Also, the fact that there’s no auto save so you can use the game on different devices is insane. You have to manually save and load like this is a 2000s Nintendo game

Ads for no reward

First, I was having issues with ads that were just blasting obnoxious noises and sounds out of nowhere for no reason other than to start all the life out of the user. Now I’m having issues where I’m watching ads and not getting any kind of rewards. I have no incentive to play the special three day events when the orders cannot be filled because no matter what the dumb cat that is supposed to be filling, the orders is choosing not to do their job, even though every single thing is filled for them to do their job. They are just sitting around doing nothing for absolutely no reason and I cannot get any new orders or produce any more lumber because I can’t get rid of the lumber that I already have. I have no incentive to continue playing the main story mode because it moves slower than dinosaurs that are dead and long gone. It takes weeks to produce one house.

Good but some fixes would make it more enjoyable

It's a good cozy game. Really aesthetic and soothing for me before i go to bed haha. One thing i would suggest is making the event rewards more achievable. I've tested out a couple events nd ultimately it requires constant grinding in order to get in & maintain the top 50 rank by the last hr aline. I also don't feel like the ranking is real- like probably bots listed to make it harder to achieve as time goes by.

I have only bought the ad pass ($15) and i can only go so far- making me feel like the only way to get more rewards in the game is by purchasing more- which is very inconvenient for me as an enjoyer. Although i understand that this is the best/only way for the dev's the make money, i still think a lot of things should be more achieveable😅 (sanding machines, tree cards, etc.)

Thanks for reading my rant nd sincere hope for this game. Best of luck. I'll still be around, i just hope this game doesnt die out

Not fun to finish

I have been playing for three months, I’m at a stage where I to leave my phone on for 140 hours to build last house.

No upgrades will reasonably help me finish the game, best case scenario I spend hours turning green coins into premium crates to speed up the process. Not fun, not good design.

cute!

Love the game, very fun and cute. Wish there was a way to purchase multiple crates at a time from the town store. Otherwise, five stars.

Blatant copy

Almost a frame for frame copy of another lumber game

IPad app non-responsive

Great on phone but can’t get past the tutorial on iPad.
Game is completely non responsive to touchscreen.

Money Furnace

Hi! Don’t buy this game.

Is the game mechanics fun and cute? Yes
Is every button on the screen a new way for them to take your money? YES

I started playing this game spent a few hours in and and was quickly overwhelmed with how disgusting and aggressive the money begging was.

I’m not kidding when I say every button on screen is just a funnel to get you to burn money. This game does not have any meaningful way to play it past 2 hours without pulling out your wallet.

I understand companies that have free to play games need to run ads to make money and support their team but this company and their behavior is parasitic and disgusting.

Take their app landing page for example, do you see all the pictures that show you a preview of they game? They are all lies. The game looks NOTHING like those pictures and they are out right misleading and fake.

I wish I didn’t see so many reviews of people giving them $20 for ad free experience and then being shocked when they are still assaulted with ads and other manipulative behavior to get people to drain their accounts.

Sad to see obviously talented art and game designers create such parasitic garbage and I’m sure it’s not their faults and it’s whatever manipulative greedy managers and owners of the developer they serve.

Don’t play any of their games. Stop supporting this garbage.

Buyer Beware!!!

I love that there’s an option to pay $20 to get rid of ads forever….but buyer beware…it really doesn’t get rid of ALL the ads. I bought it not knowing this. There are literal pop up ads that pop up when you’re trying to play the game. They clutter the screen and ask you to try out “Office Cat” I'm not sure why the devs think that doesn’t count as an advertisement? Also cluttering the screen are “play *this* event”, two different types of battle passes (one that makes you pay to progress beyond a certain point and one that has free items alongside paid items), spend $5 to unlock the “golden piggy bank”, and another ad to spend $5 to get “star pass special discount products”. Maybe it’s just me but if I pay TWENTY DOLLARS to get rid of ads, I expect to NOT have ads cluttering up my screen. It gets so bad at times that at least 30-40% of the screen is just crap they want me to buy. It would be nice if the devs would at least have the decency to put paid purchaseable items in the shop and not in both the shop AND the main screen of the game - especially for people who paid an outrageous $20 to have no advertisements. We don’t need or want to see it twice.

Also, it’s literally impossible to complete the last step of events without spending more money. I stayed up with almost no sleep, glued to my phone for two days straight in order to attempt it and only got a quarter of the way through the last level of the event.
