  • Thanks for this beautiful application

    Thanks again. Hope you guys keep working hard to make this beautiful application better…

    With Kindest Regards-BR
  • Typically won’t generate pictures

    Great idea for an app, and easy interface-but after the first 15 or so cards, the app is only generating new pictures with a 2% success rate. I click “generate”, and it will think for anywhere between 1-10seconds, and then just give me the option to save a blank picture. Please fix!
  • Worst implementation.

    It seems like al alfa (and costly) app. Maybe in several months or even years could worth its price and be ready to be properly deployed.
  • It appears to be an early incompleta alpha version.

    Uses exactly the same few words, in the same order, and only allows an infinite loop. It has potential, but I think it wasn't ready to be released and much less to charge (and quite costly) for this very basic app with so much work pending.
  • Just Avoid This App.

    Thanks to a heads-up by 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲’𝘀 𝘼𝙥𝙥𝙨 𝙂𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙁𝙧𝙚𝙚 listings, after downloading I was able to immediately partake in an upgrade to Pro via a free Lifetime IAP (𝘯𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘯 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳-𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘥 𝗨𝗦$𝟵𝟵.𝟵𝟵).

    After upgrading, I got the “Everything’s all set” message, and I gave it a whirl.

    :: 𝗜𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲𝘀 ::
    After adding four (maybe five) words for further flash card studying, I’m receiving a message to “Upgrade to see the translation” — However — ❶ I already have already upgraded (remember the free IAP?), and ❷ There’s no option showing anywhere in the app to do (or, in my case, re-do) the upgrade.

    After making your initial selections (namely your native language, the language you are trying to learn, why you are trying to learn, and your current level of knowledge regarding the language you are trying to learn), there is no way to change any of those things again.

    Another annoyance is that once the on-screen keyboard appears, you cannot read / see / action anything in the bottom-most portion of the screen, because the indismissable keyboard never goes away.

    :: 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 ::
    Even without the above issues, I don’t like the app interface, nor it’s teaching approach.

    All the app seems to do is show you a flash card session of phrases / sentences, and prompts you to tap “𝗶𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄,” or “𝗶𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁.” Either way, there’s no feedback whatsoever, or any further teaching. At the end of the session, you are shown a score of how many “𝙞𝙆𝙣𝙤𝙬𝘴” you tapped on versus the “𝙞𝘿𝙤𝙣’𝙩𝘴.”

    During my testing, the app made no attempt to break the phrases / sentences that you don’t know into smaller pieces, give you a dictionary definition, nor mention which words are nouns vs. verbs, adverbs, etc. Shows no synonyms, or antonyms, or anything.

    The audio pronunciations of everything also left much to be desired. It’s obvious that a low quality text to speech conversion is occurring. The voice sounds tinny, like from the 2000’s, and the enunciation is practically nil. There are no voices (or HQ voices) to choose from. There are no playback controls other than tapping the tiny speaker glyph to play it again — most notably that the playback speed cannot be changed — and it’s stuck on fast.

    Sure you can add more flash cards, and organize them into folders, but it’s far to little for more than a flat price of US$0.99.

    𝗗𝗲𝘃𝘀 — You’re very welcome for the free Beta testing by this Pʀᴏꜰᴇssɪᴏɴᴀʟ Sᴏꜰᴛᴡᴀʀᴇ Dᴇᴠᴇʟᴏᴘᴇʀ.

    Please try harder. Much harder.

    Change the price to a flat rate (it’s currently not worth paying more than US$0.99 for it).

    𝗢𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 — If the dev doesn’t make fixes and add much needed improvements, just avoid this app!

    Thank you for taking the time to provide such detailed feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience with our app has been disappointing. Your comments are valuable to us, and we want to address each of the issues you’ve mentioned. Issues with Upgrade and Functionality We are aware of the problem regarding the message to “Upgrade to see the translation” even after upgrading to the Pro version. This issue has been addressed in our latest update, version 1.6.4. Please update your app to the latest version, and this should resolve the problem. Changing Initial Selections We understand the frustration of not being able to change initial selections after setup. This is something we are actively working on improving in future updates. Interface and Teaching Approach We appreciate your feedback on the app interface and teaching approach. We aim to make the learning process more interactive and effective, and we acknowledge that there is room for improvement in breaking down phrases, providing dictionary definitions, and offering detailed grammatical information. Audio Pronunciations Your comments about the audio quality are noted. We are working on enhancing the text-to-speech feature to provide clearer and more natural-sounding pronunciations, as well as introducing more playback options. Pricing Regarding the pricing, your suggestion to offer the app at a flat rate of $0.99 is something we will consider as we evaluate our pricing strategy to ensure it reflects the value provided to our users. Thank You Thank you for your beta testing and professional insights. We are committed to making significant improvements based on your feedback and hope to deliver a much better experience in future releases. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work to improve the app. If you have any further suggestions or encounter more issues, please feel free to reach out. Best regards, The Lingopic Team
  • Can't figure out how to add cards!

    Wants review and I've hardly used it. I like the AI-generated artwork. (Only one set) quizzes me on Spanish words and phrases, to which I response I know/I don't know. Still need to know how to CREATE flashcards. I can create but cannot add them to folders, so I can't quiz myself on the cards I create. UI is too hard to figure out and there are no instructions. Definitely not worth the full price (got for free today)!

    Developer Response

    Thank you for your feedback! We're glad you liked the AI-generated artwork. We're sorry to hear you had difficulties creating and organizing flashcards. We're working on improving the interface and adding instructions. If you have additional questions or suggestions, you can describe the difficulties you encountered in more detail and ask questions by contacting support through the "Support" button in the settings. Thank you for your feedback! We hope future updates will enhance your experience. Best regards, The Lingopic Team
  • Potential

    The app seems great at first but once you select a language at start-up choosing a 2nd language to learn is pretty cumbersome. There aren’t any settings, directions, Help Menu, etc. to guide you, it’s just a guessing game. So, if you want to learn/practice only 1 language it’s a great app.

    Developer Response

    Thank you for your feedback! We're glad you find the app great for learning a single language. We're working on creating a help guide to make the interface more intuitive. If you have any questions or suggestions, you can always contact support through the app settings. Thank you for your patience. We hope future updates will improve your experience. • Great although

    It’s a great app but I ran into a really BIG issue. When making a new card you already have to know the word or sentence in order for it to say the sentence or word in the desired language. So if there’s a word you don’t know you have to use a different app or google to get the word because the app doesn’t generate the word. Like the word for tea in Japanese is (お茶)おちゃ you have to know that word for it to translate it. I don’t think people would know to type what you want it to say in the language you know then swap it to the language you don’t know so it’s there.

    Developer Response

    Thank you for your review and detailed feedback on your experience with our early version. As you mentioned, you can always swap the languages by pressing the double arrow button at the top of the translator to correctly save the side of the flashcard. This way, you don't need to switch to another app to translate a word into any language. We are working to make the interface more intuitive for our users. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Best regards, The Lingopic Team
