UN MissionMed

The UN MissionMed app is a useful resource for medical staff who want to provide quality care to UN personnel in challenging environments. The app summarises key policies and procedures contributing to the successful performance of uniformed medical and para-medical personnel deployed to Level I medical units in United Nations peace operations. The app supplements the core person-centred, trauma-informed UNITAR pre-deployment medical training. It is based on the revised Medical Support Manual for United Nations Field Missions, as well as the forthcoming Field Medical Care Provider Manual. While not exhaustive, its extensive glossary, interactive decision path, and essential procedures guidance will serve as a valuable resource in providing critical care in Level I medical units, thereby making UN peace operations safer and more effective. The app was developed with the support of the Government of Canada.
