This piano app used to be my favorite because it didn’t have any ads, but the latest version added ads unless you pay. There was no mention that this was a free trial. I have found another free piano app that doesn’t have ads, so I’ll use that one instead!

I'm sorry you were disappointed with the end of the free trial. Note that it's only a small one-time fee to remove the ads and go back to your "favorite" piano app. I hope you'll reconsider :)This app makes no sound, not through the iPad speakers, not through Bluetooth earbuds. It is nothing more than a black and white picture.
