Instead of being a snob and throwing you a curveball to reflect upon every time you fire up the app, InstaReflect is now more polite and asks if you have something in mind that you’d like to talk about. You can talk literally about anything and everything. Start with something like: “I struggle with managing my time effectively,” or, “I want to improve my relationships with my family and friends,” or, “I often feel overwhelmed by my emotions,” or, my personal favorite, “I like starting new projects, but somehow I leave them midway. Is that a bad thing?”

Massive improvements in the quality of conversations! They now focus more on personal experiences — things you might have written (or, would want to write) in a diary. Several empathetic psychologist personas have been added under the hood. In my experience, this is by far the best way to get to know yourself. Happy reflecting!

I’ve dialed up the quality of the questions in the conversations, adding more ice-cream to your interactions. Bugs have been squashed like never before, making this app smoother than a jazz sax solo. Under the hood, you’re paired with a famous persona whenever you start a conversation. See if you can guess who they are while conversing with them.

Ever been caught off guard by a thought-provoking question — itching to dive into the conversation but struggling to find the right words? Well, that’s exactly what quick replies such as “Help me answer” or “Elaborate this” are for. Whenever a question stumps you, but you also find it interesting, select one of the quick replies and get some much needed nudge to give words to your thoughts.

Hello folks! The biggest improvement I’ve made is added iPad support. It’s a much much better experience to type in the iPad. When I’m on my desk, I InstaReflect on my iPad. I use it on my iPhone only when I’m popping (yeah, the best reflections happen when one’s relieving themself). Other than that, I’ve also made a bunch of changes under the hood. For example, the questions won’t be so much daunting, at least not in the beginning. Instead of asking you something like, “If you could decide the values and beliefs of future generations, what would they be?” — which is a great question, but takes a lot of mental effort to answer, you’d be getting comparatively simpler questions, such as, “What do you believe brings you genuine happiness in life?” or, “How do you view the role of compromise in maintaining harmony within a family structure?” These and more personal and much much easier to answer. You get to the complex stuff a little bit later. Hope you love this update! Keep reflecting.
