Description of Mammals of Europe

PROFESSIONAL FIELD GUIDE (Field Identifier) for 334 species of mammals inhabiting Europe - from the Atlantic Ocean to the Urals, and from the Arctic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea. FIELD IDENTIFIER The application has a built-in polytomic Field Identifier (filter), which helps to determine the unknown animal by 22 different features. Using this filter you can select the geographic region, body size, presence, length and features of the tail, coloration features, habitat, type of movement, type of voice/calls, color (glow) of the eyes at night, meeting period (season of the year), type and size of tracks , type and location of dwelling/shelter, the shape and size of the excrement. The Identifier will help you to narrow down the range of species for unknown animal. TERRITORY OF USE The application covers most of the territory of Europe and surrounding seas and can be successfully used in the most part of Northern, Western, Central, Southern and Eastern Europe, including Scandinavia, Baltic States, France, Spain, Balkan countries, Transcaucasia, Northern Kazakhstan and other adjacent territories. PHOTOS AND DESCRIPTIONS For each species, there are several photos of an animal in nature, drawings of animals (males, females, juveniles), their tracks and dwellings, distribution maps, as well as a text description of appearance, behavior, reproduction, nutrition, distribution and migration. Frequently used animal species can be added to Favorites. VOICES AND SOUNDS For each of 334 species of mammals, the application contains a records of their voices – mating calls, calls of alarm and aggression (depending on the species). Each of the recordings can be played in four different ways: 1) once, 2) in a loop without interval, 3) in a loop with an interval of 10 seconds, 4) in a loop with an interval of 20 seconds. IN-APP PURCHASES The main functions of the application are free - for each species of animal you can view its image and text description and add species to Favorites (these functions are available offline), as well as play a recording of its voice (if you have an Internet connection and no more than 1 time per minute). THE APPLICATION IS DESIGNED FOR: • wildlife and wild nature amateurs and professional zoologists; • students and university teachers during field workshops; • teachers of secondary schools and teachers of additional education; • employees of forestry and hunting farms; • employees of nature reserves, national parks and other protected areas; • tourists and nature tours guides; • parents, their children and summer residents; • all nature lovers.
