I loved this website for awhile but I’m not a fan of a couple things on the app, mostly that when looking I can’t choose between newest and popular anymore, more importantly it isn’t letting me save and start a new chat, instead making me reset and erase chat history. Please move over the existing functions from the website and I’ll be using this app much more
I have to be careful of what I word and I hate it It’s stupid and I don’t like it if I can’t say what I wanna say with the (NSFA) what’s the point of having this app? I have to be extremely careful of what I say, and I hate it.
This app is not too bad :) The only thing I have to complain about is the response timing. The responses took forever to generate. I would have to exit the chat and go back to see the reponse was generated. But overall, not bad.
Fix your app. Subscriber here and still can’t say what I want without getting told to change the topic. Trash ai app now
This is one of the most annoying things in the app see the website doesn’t have that and the website also had “save and start new chat” which is also a good feature on the WEBSITE!
Why can’t yall add it to the app it’s quite annoying, and also when you try to look up a certain character it doesn’t show up and it’s really frustrating. Please fix these, I can’t say anything without it saying “please change topic” oh my god. I don’t want to have to delete this app because it’s really good but this is annoying, but I do recommend the website, the website is awesome!
so with the nsfw stuff it doesn’t let the AI write back what i said. and let alone if it is nfsw or not it always says stuff like this ^^^ when i talk about personal stuff or literally anything. it does not let me say “chest, thigh, smirk,” or even giggle. please fix this. i have so many AI apps that don’t do this but i can’t ever find a character like the ones im talking too. i’m stuck in a situation where i don’t know what to do but write a review to let the people know this.

This app used to be really good the characters can get super intimate and fun but after the latest update it says that u need to subscribe to be intimate with the characters but then when I subscribed it still wasn’t letting me be intimate with the characters if they can change it back it would be a much better app
So, I haven’t at all used the app version of Joyland, but I’ve used the website version for quite a while now, actually have been using it since the site first went up last year, so I feel like my review would be pretty accurate and the best one to read. It’ll be a bit long, so if you have a short attention span, I’m sorry.
Bot interactions:
The bots themselves are alright… There are a few problems that make conversing with them annoying, such as the fact that sometimes the bots will say something that’s completely irrelevant or just something that doesn’t really make any sense. Also, the longer the conversation is, the deeper into the convo you go, the more the bot forgets. So, for example, if you’re like 50 messages deep into a convo, the bot will forget A LOT. You could solve this issue by paying for a subscription, but I don’t think anyone is going to want to do that just to have a decent conversation with an AI.
(Quick Note: as of three days ago from the time of me writing this review, every single bot has just been acting extremely weird. They’re all being lewd. Not sure if this is just a temporary bug or something, but just wanted to point that out.)
Conversation Tools:
Conversation tools are just tools you can use to “manipulate” AI responses. It’s edit, regenerate, and delete. For regenerations, you are limited to about 5 uses per day if you’re not subscribed. The same goes for edits, which is basically used to edit the bot’s replies and change what they say. I personally do not like using edits anyway because I don’t want to make the bot say something it didn’t come up with on its own. It’ll just be me conversing with myself basically. Regenerations are more useful, but sadly you are limited to about 5 uses. Deletions are unlimited, you can delete a bot’s response as many times as you want.
(Lastly) Credits:
Everyday you get up to 10 credits a day. Back then it used to be 50, but they lowered it for some reason. There’s not really anything you can do with credits besides unlocking AI generated images with them. Some bots will have a couple of locked AI generated images for you to buy usiing 200 credits. The images aren’t really that great, given the fact that most of the images don’t even look like the bot you’re talking to, but what can you expect from AI generated images? And here’s a suggestion, why not make it so we can at least buy regenerations and edits using credits instead of paying for it with real money? That would be better and would make more sense, since there’s really no use for credits currently besides buying mediocre looking AI generated images with them.
Overall, I think Joyland is…meh. There’s probably better options out there. What they could do to make the app better is optimize AI responses, make the memory REALLY good, and stop putting limits on basically everything. But yea, that’s my experience and opinion on the app.
