Requires Contact Permissions

Starting the app plays an unstoppable video. Fine, I’ll watch it. It feels more like an art project than an app, but I never even got to the app part.

They asked for camera and contact permissions. I gave camera permissions but not contact permissions.

I never give apps my contacts as a rule.

The unstoppable video played again after selecting permissions.

I’m an app developer. I’ve gotten permissions wrong before on apps before and didn’t even realize it was tripping users up. Fix this, you’re losing more users than you might think.

It’s okay

Just downloaded the app to see what it’s about. It’s very much like an app that exists currently. It would be good if you had an option to find people who aren’t your contacts if they had an open profile. Giving the option to find people either local or worldwide would be cool.

Confusing Concept, Done Better Before

After seeing a TikTok discussing this app, I decided to look into it. Unfortunately I was left confused and disappointed. All criticism is meant to be constructive and I wish the developers nothing but success. 1. The concept is unclear. I didn’t understand what I was downloading and after diving in to find out, I still don’t understand the appeal. 2. The concept is not novel. I felt like I was joining a Snapchat and BeReal hybrid that has more steps for no good reason why. 3. The concept is not Gen Z friendly. As a 22 y/o, i feel qualified to say that my peers will likely not adapt this app as the stickers are painfully millennial and the cool thing now is to not be expressive. (Unfortunately) 4. It’s not scalable. I personally, don’t see a path to profitability without building many more features into this app that will detract from its original mission of bringing faces back to SM. Personally, not for me so I deleted. Main things to work on moving forward are marketing, copywriting, and UI. Good luck to the developers! I am rooting for you despite the harsh words!

I wanted to check it out

But signup includes an unskippable step where you are forced to share an invite with at least one personal phone contact to continue. I'm not about to share this black box with my personal contact when I haven't even gotten past the signup. Immediate delete.
