The universal converter is a smart, easy to use and precies converter between over 500 units in 21 unit sets. With advanced features, including a calculator, advanced secondary units to create composite units for specific scientific unit sets and elaborate descriptions and sources. Each unit set is configured to be intuitive to use. It is unique in learning to how deal with units that lead to confusion in daily life, such as gigabyes (GB) and gibibytes (GiB), or kilowatt-hour (kWh) and kilowatt (kW).
Unit sets include Length, Area, Volume, Mass, Speed, Temperature, Energy, Power and time, Battery capacity, Angle, Frequency (and wavelength), Musical transposition between instruments, Numbers, Percent, Fractions, Time since, Time until, Time between and Currency, Pressure, and Bits and bytes. More unit sets are coming. For each of these, a large variety of units are included. Units are shown abbreviated as well as written out, so it is easy to learn what the units refer to. The app is customizable to accommodate various preferences: in favorite units, and in how the units and values are displayed.
Select a unit category to convert any combination of units within the category. You can select one of the favorite units on the top of the screen or double tap on any result cell to convert from that particular unit to all others. The values entered are converted to all the units available in this unit set and favorite units are shown on top of the list.
You can use the number pad to change what value to convert. For many unit sets you can use this as a calculator: the equation in the calculator is evaluated in the background and the result is converted to all units available.
Copying results: long-press the result row that you would like to copy. A box opens to copy the results to the clipboard. For the time-related unit sets, a single tap is sufficient because of the update in the numbers occurring every second.
Adding favorites: by long-pressing on one of result cells, you can add the respective unit to your favorites.
Removing favorites: by long-pressing on one of result cells or on the unit in the top of the screen, you can remove the respective unit from your favorites.
