Effortless Payments in Thailand with JamJang
JamJang has been a game-changer for managing payments in Thailand, especially for foreigners like myself who want to blend in with the local payment culture. The setup process was surprisingly straightforward, though it did necessitate obtaining a local Thai phone number. This meant a quick switch from my data-only eSIM to a voice and data plan, which was a minor hassle but worth it for the convenience that followed. The integration with Wise for money transfers was a seamless experience, thanks to my pre-existing account. However, I must note that the app would benefit greatly from Apple Pay integration, which would elevate the user experience even further. Despite this, topping up my JamJang wallet from Wise is nearly instantaneous, which is a huge plus. Using JamJang for QR code payments feels incredibly modern and efficient. The user interface is intuitive, making transactions with local vendors as simple as a scan. The only slight drawback is the variable time it takes to receive the payment receipt, which can range from 10 seconds to a minute. This delay, however, is minor compared to the convenience of not having to fumble with cash. From a security standpoint, I was initially hesitant about uploading personal documents like my passport and a selfie. But JamJang's process felt secure and legitimate, putting my concerns at ease. Overall, JamJang is a must-have for anyone visiting or living in Thailand who wants to avoid the bulk of carrying cash. It's efficient, modern, and despite a few minor inconveniences, it significantly enhances your daily transactions in Thailand. Highly recommended!

Only works with a Thai SIM card
It’s probably a great app but if you use an international sim like I do when travelling you can’t use it. You must have a +66 phone number (Thai SIM card) to use the app.
Pay app
I loved using this app when visiting Thailand. It’s so handy and safe to use. This payment app makes my travels more enjoyable! Thai locals pay with their phones all the time. I got curious and found this small app does the job to help me use my phone too and it made to feel like a local while paying for shopping everywhere.

Non existent support
The concept looks good though they required passport or other ID to verify before using. Was ready to do this a few days later to find they deactivated my account with no warning and no way to sign up again. Tried contacting support multiple times with no response. Not a great experience to be honest.
