App Needs work

App is confusing and unintuitive. Not clear how the rest timer works. I ended up ignoring it.

It is also not possible to edit sets after the workout. The intent is to let you edit but it is not possible to actually save the new value 🤦

Response from developer

I’m very sorry to hear that. After you check the box to indicate you completed a set, the rest timer starts and counts down with an audible beep at the end. If this was not your experience, I would appreciate working through the issue with you. Can you reach out in the app or reply here to let me know what was confusing about the rest timer? As for editing the completed workout, I believe I see a bug when editing a finished workout. The number entry covered the update dialog. Was that what you were seeing as well? Update: I did reproduce your editing issue. The 1.0.62 release will have the fix!

Perfection!

This app is exactly what I was looking for. I got sick of our small local gym always being too busy so I ordered some bands. Then they came and I had no idea what to do with them (I’m relatively new to “weights.”) This gives me a program that’s customizable as far as the bands and accessories I have, how much time I want to spend on my workout, and best of all has examples (videos) of EACH EXERCISE! It’s fabulous! I finish my workouts tired but feeling good and sore the next day.

No videos or pictures for beginners

Visual instructions would be helpful like BetterMe. As a beginner, I have no idea what an “overhead press” is, show me. As for length of bands, are you asking for maximum stretch length or unstretched length?

Response from developer

Hi, Each exercise has a “Guide” button in the upper right corner of the entry screen. They are also located on workout screen if you tap the number. Since most exercises support multiple variants, I don't show all the videos on the entry screen, but the guide will show you how to perform them. The band length is the length without stretching. For instance, nearly every loop band is 41”.

A lot to like - but more work to be done

First of all. I really like this app and some of the features. I can tell the developers are trying to put a lot of thought into how it can benefit band users. This is definitely a wonderful start to an app that is competent in supporting resistance band users. Many other apps either completely leave out band users or have options that are not well thought out in supporting band users.

For someone like myself, that uses custom programs and has no interest in a curated program, the app is not yet to a point that I would be comfortable using it exclusively so I will cancel my sub for now.

Some screens are lacking info or just kind of wasting space, the countdown timer is pretty small, I’m not sure what is going on with audio cues but they don’t seem to work, I’d like to have more control over my custom exercises and what equipment I’m using with those, On that note I’d also like to be more specific with the equipment I use instead of just checking off a pre-made list, I’d like to see a screen before I start a workout that tells me all the specific equipment and bands I need so I can get them setup before starting my workout (this is also where my need for more control over my equipment comes in), this one is not as important but I’d like to group my workouts into a routine so I can halve multiple routines that I rotate after 6-8 weeks and it won’t overload my Home Screen with a bunch of tiles. Just some constructive feedback, not to be taken as me throwing shade on the app. I think it’s headed in the right direction.

I have plenty of feedback so if the devs would like to hear it then please feel free to contact me.

Response from developer

Thanks for reaching out and providing feedback. Some of your concerns have a planned feature to help with. For instance, I will add folders to group routines and an archive feature for programs you no longer wish to use. My goal is to make both groups of users (custom and curated) as satisfied as possible without making the app overly complicated. With feedback from users like yourself, we can do this. Please use the in-app product feedback on the main screen or the support button on the settings screen and send me a message so I can better understand your feedback. I want to make you a happy customer.

Love this app!

This app is exactly what I was looking for to track my band workouts and also to help come up with new routines! I love it! Super easy to use, and I love that it also supports band stacking!

Amazing resistance band app

As someone who uses resistance bands to workout, I have always found the various apps here to be a pain in the butt to use. Either they feel old and clunky, or they don’t have the customizations I need (for example, specifying different brands of bands).

Then I found Rubber Bands. Finally. This is the resistance band app I’ve been waiting for. Not only does this app allow full customization, but the overall design just makes sense. My workouts are now much smoother and easier to record.

I wish this app had come out years ago, but I’m so glad it’s out. I use it every workout. Thanks to the developers!
