Great Alarm, Buggy Interface
I love Super Alarm. It is aggressive, reliable, and highly customizable. It was definitely worth the sale price and I recommend it.
However, it has some bugs (at least on iPadOS 17) that can make it incredibly frustrating:
Example one: Say my iPad is off overnight. If I leave the house without completing my configured “missions,” turning on the device will make fog horn noises until I can scan a toothbrush, even if the alarm was set for 11 hours ago and I am now in the office. Offering a max duration for alarm sounds would fix this.
Example two: I tried the mission where I type a phrase. It worked until I finished the phrase. There was no submit button and “return” simply minimized the keyboard, I watched as the timer expired began blaring in my face and I was forced to reinstall the app to get it to shut up. A dedicated submit button in the UI may resolve a keyboard difference between iPad and iPhone keyboard.
Example 3: Selecting “Random” in the alarm sound category and trying to save it crashes the app without saving, but the other categories work fine. This persists through reboots and reinstallations.
All in all, it’s a great concept that works about 95% of the time. There’s just some tricky issues that can really throw a wrench in your day if the powerful features are left unchecked.

Best Mission-Based Alarm App
Currently there are two main types of alarm apps that offer unique features that separate them from simple alarm apps: (1) sleep analysis apps that sound when they think you aren’t in deep sleep and (2) mission-based apps that require you to solve missions to stop the alarm in an attempt to wake your brain up so you don’t fall back asleep. Out of the mission-based apps (Alarmy, Alarmer, SuperAlarm), SuperAlarm is the best due to its feature set and UI. It already has all the features most people will want or need, and the developers are super responsive and have even added the ability to make suggestions for new features right in the settings tab. The UI is simple and intuitive and, in my opinion, better than both Alarmy and Alarmer. It’s been a great app for me, even without the premium features. Definitely recommend.

Shady Data Settings
Unable to set an alarm without consenting to all vendors and purposes for GDPR. No reject all button BUT ALSO NO ability to manually opt out of each one as it detects it as incomplete. This is very shady indeed and I hope it’s a bug. I would take the data stealing aspects out and rely on membership fees as it is a nice app. I will be looking to report the app unless this is changed. I have given 2 stars as the features on the alarm could be better but are still good.
Some more actionable feedback is that the maths puzzle needs more settings as it gets too difficult too quick.
Potentially add an option that stops the user powering off the alarm when it is ringing if possible.

Great App
Random alarm sounds is a great addition, thank you! Only thing the app is missing is the option to require missions for snoozing (I’m finding myself snoozing without waking up enough). Everything else has been a big help in waking up and a significant improvement over the stock iOS alarms!
Great alarm app
This app is looking like it will replace Alarmy for me. The interface is clean and importantly it works with some great missions to wake you up!
