  • So Close to the Perfect Golf Game

This game is addicting and fun. Its simple and fun to play and play and play. However, the only thing that’s missing is a course creator mode where you can create holes and courses from scratch!
  • Fantastic game. Physics aren’t great

This game is my favorites golf game on the App Store. I appreciate that it’s more realistic than most, but the physics of it are spotty at best. You can hit the same shot twice and have one shot 40 yards shorter than the other. Also, the spin off the greens and slopes in fairways are terrible. When it rolls away from the hole it will roll 20 yards but when it’s supposed to roll to the hole the ball will stop. Sometimes you get punished for hitting a good shot because the physics will spin it back way more than it ever should
  • Better than all

My favorite golf game at the moment. Looking forward to updates.

A feature where you can add backspin after you strike.

A but unrealistic but i think it’s interesting.

    Would play again
  • This game has a lot of potential!

I love the idea and a lot of the execution of this game, but it just doesn’t feel finished yet.

    Cons:
    - Very repetitive feeling to the holes (either long par 4s or quick par 3s)
    - The ball moving on different grass types doesn’t feel organic or rewarding
    - The ‘island’ par 3s are extremely unforgiving in the slants and angles in their fairways and their greens
    - Not much to look at visually
    - The camera controls to see the ball and its surroundings are restrained and hard to maneuver
    - No good ‘chipping’ mechanic (hard to use the 60 degree for closer control of the ball) and putter also seems a little unbalanced as far as power of shots goes

    Pros:
    - Very intuitive gameplay mechanics (feels good to hit the ball)
    - Easy to use interface (literally only need one finger to play)
    - Lots and lots of holes to play on (even if they all feel very similar)
    - No bugs or software issues
    - Can play for a quick 5 minutes or go an hour without noticing
    - Leaderboards that aren’t broken and give a great sense of competition

Feels like this game is still in development, but that is no big issue! Because the core idea and execution is very well done. All now is just to clean it up a little!
  • Potential

This game is fun. Lots of potential. Greens and slopes are way too fast/unrealistic in some instances. I’d love to see greens friction improved within the physics, or slowed down in the future. Club yardages should also have the opportunity to be lengthened or improved.

Thanks for the great review!! There's a lot more planned, and clubs definitely will be a main focus coming soon!
  • Great start with a couple of issues

Let me start this off by saying that I almost never leave reviews but seeing as this is a small game, I want to give it the credit that it deserves. The physics of the game and overall features are awesome. Most golf games don’t have the option for backspin so I really enjoy it. There are some things that I’d like to see added/improved. One is that I don’t think you can get better clubs, I feel like this will eventually make the game monotonous. Another is that I’m pretty sure the left handed and right handed stances are wrong. When you close the club face as a righty you hit a high draw and when you open it you hit a low slice. Maybe I am doing something wrong here but I would like to have it explained to me. Being a small game I expect that over time new things will be added to make it more appealing and I am looking forward to that. To the creator I just want to say that if something I’ve said is incorrect I will edit this review but I want to try to help you grow the game.

Thank you for the detailed review, and the support!! The game was designed to be as realistic as possible, so that’s great to hear you enjoy the physics and features. As for the different clubs, that is actually in the works! There are some new features being developed that will let you select between a few different sets of clubs, for different play styles (more aggressive with spin vs more focused on distances…) As for the left and right handed stances, the design of that was to match the real-life stance of a golfer. With a right-handed golfer standing of the left side of the ball, “closing” the face would tilt the club face slightly towards the golfer, and remove loft - thus the arrow would point towards the golfer (in this case to the left). This is just reversed for a left handed golfer, where closing the club face has the arrow point closer to the golfer (in this case to the right). The feedback here is great, as perhaps some more work can go into the UI and the explanation of this feature. The game mechanics also support club face and swing path separately, so a low draw is possible to hit, as well as a high fade! As you mentioned, the game is developed by a solo indie-dev, so updates are slow but thorough. If you have more specific ideas, feel free to reach out to info@wttrlabs.com and share! Much more is planned for the future, so stay tuned, and keep playing! Thank you :)
  • Great game that can be even better

This game is a lot of fun and has tons of potential. A great baseline and a great idea. I could see this game becoming a smash hit by changing just a few things. The greens need to be a bit more difficult, there needs to be an auto club recommendation for every shot (doesn’t keep the same club for back to back shots). Also a change to the backspin feature, making the menu similar to the spin functions on the game 8 Ball Pool. There are also a few bugs where the ball rolls slowly and takes a long to to come to a stop. A speed up option could fix this issue.

Thanks for the great review and the suggestions! A fix for the ball rolling slowly is nearly completed and should be released in the next update! Also that is a great suggestion for backspin, there are some more updates coming soon that would pair well with that ;) !
  • Very good!

This might be the best golf game on the AppStore! Please keep the updates coming 🙏

Thank you for playing and for the great review!! There is a lot still to come, so stay tuned!
  • 5 not Fore!

I really like the clean design of this game. It’s really nice having everything on one button. The only thing I would change, which is kind of a big one, is instead of swiping left to adjust the height of your shot via opening or closing the club face (it’s way too hard to figure out the effect on distance when you do that), is have the left-hand mechanic do draw and fade so you could curve it in or out of the wind….at this point I use all the mechanics except for that but maybe I’ll figure that out so It’s not so difficult to judge the distance changes while hitting it higher or lower……however I’m nitpicking…..it’s an excellent game! I will definitely support and buy the extra course, but you can play for free all you want.

Thank you for the great review and gameplay suggestions! There's a few updates in the works that will hopefully help this! Also thank you for the support!
  • Clunky Controls

You gotta make changing clubs easier. Rotating like a clock to get the right club is not it. Maybe even presetting a club to the yardage out so in choosing the club it wouldn’t be changing from driver to 8 iron every shot.

The rangefinder is kinda weird. Like when you wanna see where you’re hitting the ball, the camera doesn’t go to where you’re aimed. Traditional golf games got that right and someone may have a better idea for the area that the ball will travel but this is not it.
When looking at a circle or something indicating where the ball can travel would change the speed that the hole could be played. When looking at the rangefinder you should be able to move the aim and the club.

Graphics are fun. Love the feel of the game. Great concept. Lacks the controls to enjoy.

    Developer Response

Thank you for the review and the great feedback!! There are a few changes in development that will help address some of this, keep an eye out for the next update!
