  • Do not trust this app- privacy violation

This app showed me a list of other users’ notes today that had nothing to do with my account. It was a glitch that lasted 15 minutes but I could see the full text as if they were my own. Scary.
  • Just missing a watch complication

The dev has finally released three Apple Watch app, so now all we need is a complication for quick access.
  • Crash on open

    Crash on open
  • Crashing and unusable

After last update the app just crashes. Even with the recent update it is still crashing. I submitted a ticket to support but haven’t received anything.

Update: I had to uninstall and reinstall. This seems to have fixed the issue.
  • So much Promise

Found the app back in May 2024. Installed and immediately purchased the Believer level. I love supporting small developers. The app continues to evolve and add features even though it’s only a been a few months since installing it. There’s a watch app now. Threading. Link and photos attachments. All great stuff. Near human level transcription is scary good, but that is expected these days. Still amazes me.

Wish List (most may already be in dev)
    - direct typing input
    - Apple Watch complication
    - iOS widgets
    - drag and drop support (for example, record a note at the root level. Oops, that should have been a thread under this note. Drag and done)
    - speech to text should identify the speakers.
    - better parity between iOS and web. They’re open about why this isn’t the case. They’re still learning the mobile platform. Honestly, without mobile capability I probably would not use the app at all. I’m very mobile heavy and I think others are as well.

Keep up the great work. I’m excited to see what they come up with in another few months!!
  • Options keep growing!

I have been using Voicenotes as a journal essentially. I find journaling cathartic and reviewing later with a summary by AI is fantastic. Really excited to see what’s next.
  • Very good

There are several tools like this. I think at last count I have about five of them on my iPhone. This one is very good. But it's missing some very basic features like being able to share a transcription with the started iOS share functionality.
  • Don’t bother. Apple will offer this natively soon.

Product does not reliably record or save. What I’ve lost is priceless and really regret trusting and paying for this product
  • Erasing my notes

Worked great for a bit and then would sign me out. I would sign back in and all my notes were gone. It has done this three times now. Will not be using again.
  • Needs Better Privacy

I really like how simple this app is to use and I prefer it, but I’m going for a competitor (superwhisper) because I don’t feel comfortable having my notes sent to the cloud.

Notes on superwhisper stay on your device and they also don’t collect ANY data. It’s more expensive but worth it just for that in my opinion. I know I’m probably in the minority here but these security and privacy considerations are so important, especially for something as intimate as personal note taking.

Not collecting data also prevents a privacy policy bait and switch. Please consider upping your privacy practices, even if it makes the app more expensive. I’d switch back should that happen 🤷🏻‍♂️
